My daughter works at Walgreeens. Last week I went in and purchased 6 of the John Frieda shampoos, my daughter did the same, ON HER DAY OFF.

The next day her manager brought her in and yelled at her for "scamming the system" and told her that if she and I wanted to get large quantities of a sale item, we would have to do so on Saturdays.

Today I stopped in on my way to town and got 2 lysols. I didn't have my Secret Deodorant coupons, so I didn't pick those up, but this afternoon, I had my coupons with me and stopped in to get my deodorant. While I was there, the manager brought my daughter into her office and yelled at her again. The manager wanted to know if my daughter had "talked to me" about not coming in except on Saturdays!

I work most weekends. That means that only rarely would I be able to shop at Walgreens. I don't think this is right. So I want to write to the corporate office and see if she really CAN yell at my daughter for MY shopping habits, and if she really CAN ban me from the store except on the days I work. But I don't know how to contact the corporate offices. Does anyone know how to contact them, by mail, email, or phone, I really don't care how.

I feel this manager is totally wrong on this. Or am I? Should she be able to ban me from shopping at the store? HELP!!!

I think it's 1-800-Walgreens. And I think you are totally right about this. I would be very mad someone treated my daughter like that. There's no reason why any of you can't shop there anytime you want to with your coupons!

I was a Corp. Lawyer before I got married and became a stay at home mom, there is a fine line there, but the bottom line is they have no right to treat your daughter that way and you need to contact the labor board in your state. Also you need to call walgreens corp. office asap and let them know what 's going on the only way they can really say anything is if your daughter rings your stuff up or hides things that are in house sales and not listed to the public, make that clear when you call that no of that is going on. Please write down the time and date and the person you speak with and have your daughter write down the time and the manager thats fusses at her. it might be best for your daughter to ask for a witness when she is called in to the office . hope some of this helps.

She absolutely has no right to tell you how or when to shop and certainly no right to ban you unless you have done something illegal. As for your daughter there is a chance that they can give her that direction, but if it is permitted it would be written in the employee handbook or a written employee shopping policy. ( I worked for walmart and there was a specific policy about buying sale items)

I wouldn't think they would have any right to tell you what days of the week you can and cannot shop!!! Holy cow! I have never heard of such a thing. Now I would think they could limit how much you can get but nothing you bought seems outrageous to me.

I have 1-800-WALGREENS or 1-800-925-4733. This is on the back of my flyer. I would definitely call them. She has no right to treat her employees or customers this way regardless of the relationship between you. You have nothing wrong and she needs to be stopped before she does it to anyone else. How Dare she!

You should call or stop in and talk to that manager. Maybe if you talk to her, she might change her mind. Then you would also be able to give her response to Corporate too. Because they might ask if you personally spoken to the manager.

Well, I emailed a letter to the corporate office, they forwarded it to the store manager and then I talked to the manager. First thing out of her mouth was "I do not yell at my employees". And she may have not yelled at my daughter, but if she used the same tone of voice with her as she did me... I can see why my daughter said she got "yelled" at.

She tried to bring up some other disciplinary issue she had had with my daughter. I told her that had NOTHING to do with what I had emailed corporate about. (I had gotten my daughter's employee discount one afternoon when my daughter and I went to shop at Walgreens, without realizing it. The girl who rang us up thought that we lived in the same household.) So I told her that my problem was with the fact that she had told my daughter that I was not allowed to shop there except on Saturdays, and that, in essence, meant that I couldn't shop at Walgreen's 90% of the time.

She fired off an "I never said that!" And I said no, that she hadn't used those words, but by banning me from the store except for Saturdays, it was the same as.

She finally cooled off a bit and said that she asks all of her "heavy couponers" to wait for the end of the week to shop the sales. And that if it's an item with a RR, to come in no more than once a day. But she was unaware that I worked on the weekends and if I needed to come in on a different day, that could be arranged. I said that Wednesdays work well for me, but was that just for getting larger quantities of the sale items, or was this the only day I could come in? By that time she no longer had that tone in her voice and said that NO, she was NOT banning me from the store, just I needed to wait for Wednesday (in my case) to come in to use coupons.

I'm going to start shopping another store, it's 30 minutes away, but I think it'll be for the best. I told my daughter this evening, she said that I shouldn't have to go somewhere else, that it would be illegal for her manager to retaliate for me shopping with coupons, so I should continue to shop there. I explained to her that just because her manager doesn't say that there's a problem because of me using coupons in her store, there may be some attitude coming from the manager, she may get overlooked for raises or hours or whatever. She's going to college and needs them to be a little flexible with her hours, they could make it VERY uncomfortable for her. So until she's out of college and/or gets another job, I'm going to shop at another store.

I've only been serious about coupon shopping in the past 4 months or so and have only been using this site for the past week, and this has been a great place to find so many great things, not just great deals either. I would NEVER EVER let her TELL me which days I can shop. If I want to be there frist things SUnday morning to get something on sale, then I should be able to!

But my daughter really needs the job and I'm just not going to take the chance. I'll go out of town. She's a horrible person, obviously, so I'm not going to give her any ammunition to hurt my daughter.
