 6 year old Product !!!!!
My Mom and I went shopping at Target the other day and found some great clearanced deals on various brands of make-up. Needless to say we stocked up!!! Anyways, upon returning home and starting to open some of her finds, my mom noticed that one of the Neutrogena items she bought expired 03/03....yep you read that right over 6 YEARS AGO!!!!! Needless to say she is waiting to call corporate on Monday.

A few months is understandable, especially on a clearanced item....It could have been ANYWHERE. But over 6 years and it has been marked down a few times between then and now is RIDICULOUS!!!!

that is bad! the other day i got a twix bar at CVS and it expired feb 08! 15 months ago...YIK! needless to say it was so nasty when i bit into it I looked at the expiration date! I would def call corp

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to contact the mfr. as well. I'm sure they'd appreciate being alerted to this fact.

I'd suggest watching the exp on the kraft items also...yesterday I found several Miracle Whip Lights that expired in 08. I informed the clerk.

This is funny because I just cleaned out a cabinet and found neutrogena acne cream that expired in 97. Yes, 1997. It was not opened and not in the way back. Now I have teenagers, not one of them would have been over 7 for that expiration date, and I have never used it myself. I am wondering if its something I brought within the last few months or so for my girls now. I know its far fetched, but my oldest was born in 90 and definitely did not need it then, but we did buy this not that long ago, just don't know for sure if it was that one or another one we already used. This is a mystery to me! |

Also, I am wondering if someone returned either my item or the item with the 6 year date and they just put it on the shelf again if it was unopened. I be the UPC codes don't change much.

wow that is crazy. I've noticed that people are finding more and more expired items in stores. I'm kinda wondering what the heck is going on. I do find 6 years to be a little extreme though. I can understand a couple of months but not 6 years. Wow somebody dropped the ball on that one.

similar thing happened to me at our Target....I found a jar of Pace salsa (on sale,not clearance!) that expired in 2006, I gave it to the store manager who checked the shelf and found three more expired jars ,they were all on the bottom shelf, this was about a month ago. Now I check every date!!!!

That's really yucky! I hate that I have to check dates on everything. I am pretty good about it most of the time, but I swear the one time I forget, it's expired!

I was shopping at Jewel a couple of months ago and was getting some Kraft mayo and something told me to check the date (which I never do) and it was 7 mos. old! I looked around and found 4 more. I took them to the closest worker I found in one of the aisles. Instead of thanking me, she looked at me and rolled her eyes and said oh, and took them and walked away!
