Ok I feel like a bit of an idiot. I bought, at walmart, a box of Uncle Bens Wild Rice and got it home and it was expired. Called company and they said they would send out replacement coupon. And they said I can eat it for up to 18 months after if was expired. So we ate it. Got my coupon went to Hyvee and bought another box and got it home and then thought "I wonder when this one expires?" and I looked at it was expired too!! So what do I complain again or just eat it and deal with my stupidity?

Use a different email and your DH name.Tell them that you went back to the store and they have many expired ones one the shelf and they will also contact the store.I ran into the same problem with one of the store I shop at.I bouhght some salsa that had been expired for over a year and was discontinued by the maufacturer.

I would bring it back to the store you bought it at and complain to them, its really their fault -not the manufacturer's fault. Not sure what your store's policy is on having expired items on the shelf - but I was told that at my Giant - if you purchase something that is expired - they will refund your money and give you a free one (never tested this out...)

My problem with returning it is that its a 30 minute drive and so I have to wait until I'm going that way.

Call the store immediately, ask for a manager, and tell them you want a refund next time you come in, and you want to make sure someone cleans off the shelf.

Over the years, I have easily gotten over a hundred free items from various stores when I find expired stuff on the shelves. It happens probably close to once per month.
