| What's for Dinner?: 7/22/12
I'm about to load up up the car and head to the beach! We are having a little family vacation prior to my brother's wedding. Me & the kids are meeting up with my brother & his bride, my niece & my nephew, and my parents. Unfortunately, my hubs can't go with us because of work. I'll be back to get him in a few days for the wedding. So dinner will most likely be at restaurant. What's for dinner at your house?

Have fun Brie! I got everything ready for a roast in the crockpot, pulled the 'roast' out of the freezer and it was actually a huge sirloin steak. What they hey let's try it anyway! So I don't know how supper will turn out but I am cooking one massive sirloin like a roast. We will have potatoes and other fixings with it. |

In our paper today there is an article about price of corn going up due to the drought which means cost of beef and other meat will go up since they eat corn. First line actually said to stock up on meat. I think I will stash some just in case.

| Hubs and I were just talking about this, I think I may go to Sam's club or Bj's and get a good amount to hold us over for a while. Its scary to think of all the staples you need getting so costly

We are having a cook out at mom's tonight my little sister is in town and she is bringing her new boyfriend they have been dating a while and we have yet to meet him bc sis lives kinda far and he lives even further from her, so I'm a little nervous and excited. I think mom is making BBQ chicken, corn, fresh veggies from her garden, homemade cake and ice cream!

We finished up our dog sitting duties at our DS's apt, and went out for brunch. Planning on BLT's and edamame later for dinner, if we are hungry! Have a fun trip, Brie!

Trying a new recipe tonight. Chicken Sausage Stuffed Zucchini Boats. Hope it turns out good. I'll make a salad to go with it.

We used one of our dailysocials.com voucher for 2 18" cheese pizzas from our favorite pizza place. Only $12...not bad considering it will feed us multiple meals!

Found a new Beef and Broccoli recipe on The All recipe app. It uses condensed tomato soup as a base. I jazzed it up with a very healthy dose of fresh garlic and fresh ginger with a good sprinkling of cloves (mimicking Chinese 5spice) and thinned it out with beef broth. I think it's a keeper! I also did half beef, half chicken. Really good.

The trip was long but good. My kids were great! We met up with my brother and ate at Red Robin, which is one of my favorite restaurants that we do not have in my area back home. It was so good. And right before we left, my middle child threw up everywhere. I hope it just that we were in the car all day and ate trashy food.
