i wanna make chili in the crock pot today but dont know how long i should let it cook on low for? will the bottom burn?

It shouldn't burn if you keep it on low for most of the day.

I think that would be enough..... i have only made chili once... and it was done by dinner...

You could always put it on high to start and turn it down to low or warm if you feel like it's getting too hot.

If I make something in the crockpot, I almost always put it in right at breakfast time and put it on low for the whole day. Seems to work out perfectly.

It depends on how big your crock pot is ....... we have a smaller one that is about 3 1/2 or 4 Q and I normally let it cook 2-3-4 hours and it is fine...... just remember to stir it once on a while

i tend to make everything in my crock pot. i hadnt tried chili yet! i tasted a lil after it started getting warm and i must say DE LISH! haha

I usually let mine go all day on low....that can be over 9 hours sometimes. Has never burned. I do brown the meat first, other than that, I just dump the stuff in, stir and leave it alone. (I have one of the larger ones)
