| Foodsaver
Do any of you guys have a foodsaver machine and if so do you like it? I have been going back and forth on getting one for awhile and just haven't been able to bring myself to spend the $$$ on one. DH and I just moved into a house from our apt and we are getting a deep freezer and I would like to start making more trips to Sams and stuff to buy bulk meats to freeze and save $$. Any opinions/recommendations? TIA

We got one last November-someone posted an awesome deal on here. We love ours-I'm not sure of the model number, but so far have been very happy. If you get one, partially freeze the meat before using your food saver. It's much less messy and you don't wind up with chicken/beef juice everywhere.

I have used a food saver for years. I love them. The foods do not get freezer burnt.. well at least not for a long long time.. I also buy cheese and cut it up into usable size chunks, vacuum seal them and then I don't have to worry about the air getting to them and causing mold. Great item for buying in bulk when meats and seafood are on sale!

Also on my first food saver after about 2 years of heavy use, the heating element for sealing the bags quit working.. I sent it to them for repair.. I paid the shipping to return it to them but they sent me a brand new one...

I've had mine for at least 7-8 years and it's still going strong. Love, love, love it!!! My mom always re-wrapped her meats in freezer paper with masking tape, etc., but I hated doing that. I've "lost" things in my freezer for extended periods of time and never had anything get freezer burnt. You won't be disappointed!
