Its been about 8 years since I made caramel apples. My daughter want to make them. I have the candy and the apples. Do you have to put milk in it, and can you melt it in the microwave? TIA

No milk needed, just melt about 40 caramels on the stove with 1 Tbsp water - low heat of course

LOL No worries........it works for me so it will work for you too. I am a good cook but my DH thinks I dont know what I'm doing either........hence why he goes to eat at his mom's (my food is good I swear!)

I do, I have never made them any other way. I can not seem to find my recipe at the moment. After i do the caramel dip I do the chocolate and nuts....it is so good makes a nice gift.

Good news to report, they came out perfect, look like we bought them at the store. We haven't tasted them yet, because my DD said the like to pretty, but we will today.

I would love to make homemade caramels, I remember my grandmother making it.
