Good Morning Cooks, There was the most beautiful sunrise this morning. All pink and rosy across the sky. Great way to start the day for sure. We're having meatloaf tonite with potato/onion/zucchini bundles and sliced tomatoes. I spent a good part of yesterday afternoon organizing a pile of new recipes I want to try and one of them is for apple dumplings. I remember my grandma's apple dumplings, the ones with the cinnamon sauce over them. Oh my, they were so good. I am not a baker but will try these with a little help from pre-made pie crust and see what happens. Must remember to get some vanilla ice cream to top it off. Hope all my friends who are under the weather feel a bit better today. |

HI all, It is beautiful here. Hubby is away for the rest of the week at a job site, so it is just Dd and I. Tonight I am taking her to Mcdonald's to support a school fundraiser( the teachers/ principal serve up the food and a % goes to the school) I won't be eating there, I will probably have a veggie burger with salsa / sour cream , tomatoes and onion. Have a great day all.

I would love the recipe for potato/onion/zucchini bundles if you'd like to share. I am always looking for side dishes. Tonight is crockpot bbq chicken or crockpot chicken pasta something~not sure yet. Big Shirley, pm me your addy. I would love to send you some chicken soup. How long is turn around to your part of the world? I would love for it to be homemade, but I don't think it will make it. Will Campbell's soup at hand suffice? Off to class..........Everyone have a great day!

We are having something my family has named "poor man's steak". It is a hamburger pattie stuffed with steak sauce, cheese, and onions. Rice and green beans for sides. Leftover brownies for dessert. BigShirely, hate to hear you are not feeling well. Hope you can rest and feel better. Keep safe.

I'm clueless about what we're having tonight. Something quick I guess. Hopefully my S.O. won't get paged out on emergency after emergency again all night, like he did last night. We could both use a relaxing evening and a good nights sleep.

Hi everyone ! It's a beautiful windy day here again here in south jersey. It's preventing me from cooking on my grill. Tonight I am trying a new/old recipe. I bought some beef shanks & beef bone marrow. I will be cooking them as I cook my osso boco, which is 1 c. diced beef bone marrow, 2 1/2 c. beef stock (add more if it cooks down), 1 c. chicken stock, dash salt, 3 bay leaves, 3 tbls. corn oil. Cook on low heat for 1 1/2 hrs. Turn meat occassionly. I will serve this with mashed potatoes & mushrooms. Pour the stock over beef. If this recipe dosn't work out as my osso boco, I will be very disappointed.

Easy dinner tonight- soft taco bake and some yellow rice. Maybe vanilla pudding or ice cream for dessert. Rainydays~ I am not much of a cook, but I use Paula Deen's recipe for Blueberry Dumplings (we like strawberry instead of the blueberry). It is super easy- cook everything on top of the stove and very yummy! |

Sister's baby was born yesterday... so the kids went back to school today (they were hoping he wouldn't come so quick so we'd have to stay at a hotel close to the hospital. They ended up loving the hospital food... me and dh, not so much! I bought one of those pot roast kits so tonight will be pot roast! Have a good day everyone! |

I'm hosting my book club tonight so for me it's a spread of Trader Joe's appetizers. :-) For DH, it's probably a grilled cheese or take-out Taco Bell, followed by leftover Trader Joe's appetizers later.
