I find myself buying a TON of papers just to make sure I cover all the bases...this is what I've noticed... Hartford Courant - Buy the Saturday "Early Edition" to get the Q's at $.75 instead of $1.50 - Has good high dollar Q's (Schick, etc) - Horrible food Q's (always $1/2) - Shares inserts with New Haven Register / Meriden Record Journal (sometimes - NOT always) New York Daily News - $1.00 each - Only contains RP inserts - Food Q's are usually $.50-$.75/1 (Great for doubling!) New York Post - $1.00 each - Only contains SS and PG - Food Q's are usually $.50-$.75/1 (Great for doubling) Connecticut Post(?) - I bought this paper last week (I was in Bridgeport) and noticed that the Q's were all $XX/1 (low values - only good for tripling) What newspapers do you find the best Q's in - or do you rely mostly on clipping services??

I've lived in this state all my life, even worked in a convenience store, and never knew there was an early edition of the Hartford Courant! Learn something new every day! Is that something that comes out later in the day on Saturday or is it the normal Saturday paper?

LoL I'm not even sure how I figured it out...think I went in thinking it was Sunday and then was pleasantly surprised to see the half price pop up ![]() At home I get the "normal" Saturday paper...but at all of the stores I've only ever seen the early edition...Stop & Shop, Walgreens, gas stations, etc. The only "un-cool" thing is that none of the CVS' around here sell newspapers! Grr!

The Daily News also has P&G. I like CT Post, for the very reason you mentioned above -- $xx/1 q's (and they have betty crocker q's and the special unilever RPs when the New York Times that we get delivered does not). Nice thread!

Good point about the P&G in the Daily News! Totally forgot about that one - AND - the Daily News sometimes has the CoverGirl Q's that no one else has. I think I made up my mind today that I'll grab (10) Hartford Courant's on Saturdays using RR from Wags, and then grab (10) Daily News & NY Post's on Sundays with ECB's from CVS LoL Anything else I need I'll grab from a clipping service. (I think I might have to find a cheaper "supplier" - I'm shopping for about 4 households now LoL) P.S. Meriden Record Journal - Uses the same SS as the Hartford Courant - The RP sometimes has different Q's though it's hard to tell and the values aren't so hot - This weekend there were NO inserts though there's a SS in every other paper (?? odd!) The New Haven Register - Has the same Q's as the Hartford Courant and the Meriden Record Journal, but again, sometimes has different Q's not found in other area papers What I started doing is literally sitting there and comparing the inserts BEFORE I buy them...I explained to the cashier that I was going to be a while and he simply nodded and watched LoL

I mostly get the register and get the Q's from the Hartford Courant which I do find to be much better. I have often wondered why they do that?? I don't know if you know this but the local Advocate (which is free) has SS in them everyweek. Most people just take the paper and leave the q's in the box which is AWESOME for me. Do any of you buy coupons?

I do buy Q's from TheCouponClippers and CentsOff - I've had very good luck with them, and they usually have $.50/1's when all we got was $1.00/2's - good for doubling. I've also bought from eBay, but I have a few sellers that I "normally" use.

Where does can I find the New Haven Advocate? I checked the boxes at the train stations, but there haven't been any that I've seen...Specific stores would be helpful (711? XPect? Outside a coffeeshop? etc) TIA! |

I did NOT know that about the Advocate! That is awesome! I get the Courant delivered to my house on Sundays, but I'm thinking of going to local gas stations and asking if i can have the leftovers on monday if no one else has already asked. |

I've gone on Sunday nights (around 10 pm) and found that most of the stores have either already thrown them out (not very dumpster diving friendly), or still want to sell them. I'd suggest going a little earlier on Sunday...like 6pm or so...and asking what time they generally start throwing them out, and if they could put them aside for you.
