I've been unemployed for a while now, and having to live with the help of my family. I applied yesterday for a job at Redstone Arsenal, an Army base an hour from my house. It's through a staffing agency, so this morning I had to take online assessment tests. Just spoke with the woman at the agency, and she said that I did well enough that my resume will be one of those that she sends to the Commander to review for an interview. I really, REALLY hope that I at least get an interview! I really want and need this job! Please send all the positive thoughts you can muster towards me! I really appreciate it! Thank you!!

That is AWESOME! I have done contract work with the Army in the past. Don't get too frustrated if it takes a long time. The government moves slow as molasses!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. Got an email from the lady at the staffing service today and she said that she still hasn't heard from the Commander and that he is off today and Monday. So...will be at least the middle of next week before I find out if I get an interview. But, no news is better than bad news!

Called the lady at the staffing service to see if she knew anything yet, and the Commander STILL hasn't gotten in touch with her! *sigh* She said to call her back Monday if I haven't heard from her. Hurry up and wait, right?

Sorry to hear about the job. I was hoping I could check in and hear good news. Get your resume out there again. When I didn't have a job I always just called places at random, went through the phone book, and not necessarily jobs in the want ads. Randomly is how I got the job I'm in now. I hope things work out for you.
