My husband had surgery today for an inguinal hernia. The Dr. told me is was supposed to be a 45 min. surgery, but it ended up taking over 2 hours. The Dr. said it was really bad once he got in there. He said there was a lot of scar tissue from the hernia going in and out. The Dr. had to cut out part of his omentum to fit the inestine back inside of him. They put a piece of fiberglass in to hold his intestines in place. The Dr. said that his recovery time will be longer and pain more intense that a normal hernia operation. It was the first time that he has been under anestesia and he has been throwing up all night-and it hurts him to strain to throw up. He can't walk to I've been wheeling him around all night in the house. He just FINALLY fell asleep. I know that tomorrow will be the worst day for him...

I've been on AFC for about 2 and a half months now and I really feel like it is my extended family now. Please keep my husband Jay in your prayers.

Will keep both of you in my prayers. If he keeps throwing up, call the doctor. They will be able to give him some medicine that will keep him from throwing up. You might want to call the doctor anyway and let him know what's going on. Take care!

UPDATE ON JAY-He is walkin now! And he is having normal trips to the bathroom. No more thowing up either. God is so good! His re-check with the Dr is on Friday, so I'll let you know what he says! THANKS FOR ALL OF THE PRAYERS!
