I've been watching a neighbor's son for a week and it's been rough. We agreed on a 2 week trial period, but after this past week, I've found that being as pregnant as I am, I just can't do it. He's too big and too active. I've been getting Braxton Hicks about 6-8 times a day or more when I watch him, but maybe 1-2 this weekend and that's only when I have to pee. A full bladder makes for an angry uterus!

So I've told them I will watch him this week like I said, but I can't after that just for my own sanity and for the safety of the pregnancy. They totally understand and are trying to find another provider. I'm hoping it will happen sooner than the end of the week, though. It's really REALLY rough, but I said I would do it. So if you could send some positive thoughts this way and some CALMING vibes to this little boy for me, I'd appreciate it, LOL. I know I should tell them that I just can't even do it this week, but I can't do it. I just can't leave them hanging like that.

prayers. i had the same thing happen when i was preggers, only the parents just kept dragging their feet about finding another sitter. i finally lined up another sitter for them and gave them her # and said i was DONE!

They're going to do it and are very appreciative that I was able to help. And they understand that he's a handful and with me already having a 20 month old girl, their much bigger 2.5 year old boy is just too much to handle. I'm not his mom and don't have the discipline respect that they do, so he's just testing me non stop.

not to mention there is a HUGE diffrence in the energy leval of a little girl that you are use to and a little boy. at least when jack is born you will get to ease in to the diffrences from boys and girls gradually.

Well with tomorrow being a holiday and many people having off, the boys' grandmother is keeping them! (I say them b/c I get the 5 year old off the bus in the afternoon, but he's no problem. He does what I say and I don't have to pick him up ever.) So tomorrow I have a nice rest for my body!

Oh em....you have to think of yourself first.....I'am glad they are looking for someone else to watch him, hope its fast.....thats great that you offered....but things don't always work out...you and your baby's health are priority...good luck and take care...

Just thought I'd give y'all an update, LOL. Monday was MLK and they boys' grandmother had them. Yesterday we got our big snow for a few years and pretty much everything was closed and neither parent had to go to work. Today is the big melt and the schools are closed again and both their cars are still there so they are all still home. So here we are on Wed. and I have yet to watch either child this week. I hate they had to miss work, but I'm glad it's working out for me and my watching them will likely be minimal this week!

Ha! I don't want the snow to stick around any longer, LOL. That's the thing I normally love about the rare big snows we get down here. They are so pretty and fun and are gone within days so we don't get tired of it nor do we have to *deal* with it for very long.

Poor thing. I couldn't even take care of myself when I was that pregnant. Sending some sleepy , calm, peaceful little boy vibes your way. Just think, you'll have this to look forward to in a few years

Thank God I don't have to watch him after tomorrow. He's been here about 2 hours and I'm already worn out! He's just off the wall! I have to keep reminding myself he's only 2.5 years old and he just doesn't understand a lot of things. But I also have to remind him that Abby is smaller than him and he has to be gentle. Then I have to tell both of them to share, LOL. I'm so tired.

What gets me, though, is the lack of thought and preparation from the parents. Neither one called to tell me if I would or wouldn't be having them the past two snow days. Seriously, I was the one that told THEM that school was closed! And I only found out I was keeping him this morning 30 minutes before she dropped him off! If it were me, I would have called last night and said if X happens, then we'll do this and if Y happens, this will be the plan. I just don't understand hearing any of the plans second hand through my husband who is not the one watching.

I don't understand how some people just kind of do whatever they want without thinking about it first and knowing there may be consequences. I don't think they have any type of alternate care set up for beginning next week, either. It's going to be a hard reality if they ask me b/c they're going to get the same no I've already told them since last Friday night. I hope I'm wrong, though.

Should I send prayers that a 2.5 year old isn't stuck outside to a tree-- That is what my mom tells my kids when they start acting up. Wishing you the best. Does he take a nap, do you have a slight reprieve?
