Duplicate posts happen.

Even when a member does a search for a post, duplicate posts happen.

Now, we don't want the same information/offers/deals being posted again and again and again.

However, duplicate posts happen.

The best thing to do if you find a duplicate post is one of the following:

1. Copy link address info and PM that address to a moderator/forum leader. All you have to put in the subject line is DUPLICATE POST.

2. Hit the REPORT button (bottom right hand corner of post) and put DUPLICATE POST in message area.

It is that simple.
No need to comment that it is a duplicate post.
No need to get any panties in a wad.
Why?
Because duplicate posts happen

So true! there is so much info on this site that duplicates are inevitable..

something that i think might help is when you put in the title to your thread make it as detailed as possible..for example..if you have a post for a free t-shirt..instead of the title being free t-shirt put the business name also..like free Nike t-shirt..just a suggestion

Good suggestions Lochelle! I know that sometimes titles are the key. I don't always click on all the freebie links. I'm just way too busy and buisnesses tend not to like my 1/2 addy.

i am the same way! i just cant keep up with all the freebies..and the title is definitely key..i have noticed just one word change will bring up a whole new set of posts..

We all need to search before posting a freebie. Make sure you spell the name of the product correctly and make the title as specific as possible. Once you have the title done and hit the tab key, a list of similar threads shows up. Check them out-- if one is the same as what you were going to post, don't post yours. Instead, go to the older thread and bump it for others to enjoy! This keeps the freebies forum cleaner and easier for people to find worthwhile offers! Also, post in the proper sections-- baby and pet freebies are popular so there are separate subforums for those. Thanks to everyone who posts wonderful freebies here for us all to enjoy!

And if you find a duplicate post, please hit the report button and be sure to include the links for the duplicate posts in your report! If a duplicate post is reported and there are no links to the duplicates included, it takes a lot of time to find them and clean them up. Thanks for posting all these great freebies!

I have to say when I accidentally duplicate a post (due to the title not mentioning the product name), my posts are merged into the other one. That's fine.
When I see others duplicate a post that I started, nothing is done about it.
I just don't understand why that is? I even mentioned it in one particular thread and nothing was done about it. It's still up and so is mine from. I just feel like my posts come down and others don't. Please make it fair.
