Pints of blueberries are on sale for .98 each - so I bought 2 flats (or 24 pints)
The free item after $25 purchase is 2 pounds of bananas.
You can count the value of the free item towards the $25.

SO...

(24) x .98 = $23.52 for blueberries
(2 lbs ban.) $ 1.24

--usually they will let something that close slide, but if you don't have anything else, just make sure you have a little over 2 pounds of bananas.

But the 2 pounds of bananas will be free, so you would get this all for under $24.

Got them. I'm thinking of canning 75% of them. While I do have a chest freezer, it's not a big one. Maybe 4 feet wide ??? I don't think its 5. Anyway there is only so much room in there. Most likely I will be using them for cobblers pies and jam. Nothing like homemade blueberry jam on fresh (okay I cheat and use a bread machine) warm bread.

I know this is a cashwise thread, but I also have to run over to hornbachers (no thread available for that store) to pick up cherries. They are selling them for 1.49 a lb. Cashwise has them on sale for $2 a pound. I don't think I will find them for any cheaper. Hmmm I'm going to be busy. Luckily I got papers this last weekend there there are canning jar coupons in them if I need them. Oh a ps on hornbachers cuase so many of us that shop at cashwise are cw, hornbachers and sunmart... Someone on the board (some place) mentioned that casey's gas station had 75 cents off 2 powerade coupons. I picked up a few and took them to Hornbachers where they doubled, lower power ade that was on SALE for 78 cents a 32 oz to 28 cents a bottle. FANTASTIC deal since I have one teenager who just got their wisedom teeth out and another that will be in a couple days. THANK YOU you ever mentioned the deal.

Brenda - don't forget about the canning jars with the $2 rebate at Menards. Its for more than the pints. Most types/sizes except the Elite jars. I picked some up last week. Its not on lids, though.

I would LOVE your recipe for blueberry jam (is it canned or frozen? Canned would be great!)

Well isn'tTHAT something? cash wise this week has cherries for 99 cents a pound. LOL I thought I had a good deal at H. My dh says I should go and get another lug or two. YEA right, guess he has plans on keeping me busy LOL
