Why is it that cashiers feel like we are taking money from their pay checks??

.........when we use Qs??

I was at RA today wanting to take advantage of the Neutra-Air BOGO deal one last time since I had 2 more BOGO Qs and our sales here in SoCal end today.

There was nothing else I needed to purchase, so I went up to the cash register with only 4 cans of Neutra-Air. There was only one register open with a cashier who always gives me problems with Qs, but since the line was getting long, they opened up another register, but of course (I knew this would happen) I still ended up with her when it came to my turn.

She rang up the 4 cans, then told me the total. I told her I had a couple of Qs and handed her my BOGOs. She scans the first, then checks that I have purchased the correct items, checks the item price, and writes the $$ amount onto the Q. She repeats this for the 2nd Q, then turns and tells me that I owe $.46 (tax).

Just as I was pulling out a dollar to pay her, some light bulb goes off in her head that I'm paying just cents for 4 cans of air freshener, she takes a quick look at the register screen and quickly turns to the supervisor next to her (waiting to change out register) and says "I need your key to void this!" He asks why?, to which she says, "quick, I need it!" She then proceeds to void my whole transaction and turns to me with the BOGO Qs and says that she can only accept 1 of them because they were already BOGOs. Huh???!!!

She had just managed to successfully put the Qs through without any problems with the register (as well as her supervisor standing behind her) and she was now telling me she couldn't do it???! I explained to her that I should be able to use them because the store was having a BOGO sale, and the mannie were also offering me a BOGO sale with the Q, 2 separate things!! She turned again to her supervisor and asked if I could use the Qs and he told her "yes, she still has to pay taxes and the manufacturer will reimburse for the other one."

She shook her head and kept saying "I dunno!" and re-rung my transaction disgruntedly. Why-o-why do they make things so hard on us when we are just trying to use Qs legitimately to save $$ for our families??

I know what you mean. Previously, at DG when they had the 18 gal christmas tote clearanced at .01 (yes! it rang a penny) the clerk wanted to void the order soon as he realized it rang up a penny. I bought other things but what I did was swipe my CC immediately to finish the transaction and the receipt printed. He cannot void it and he had to give it to me since I've paid for it.

Why is it my fault if I find an item on clearance and it rang up a penny? I bet they just want to buy it themselves but got PO'ed because I found it first....tee hee....

I was at Waldbaums tonight because they had triple coupons. Well, I must have had at least 30+ coupons and the girl checked every coupon against the register to make sure I wasn't getting the overage. Nothing I was buying gave an overage anyways. It took foever and I think the people behind me (huge line) wanted to choke the life out of her. Here she is checking it but anytime I have done triples there the register would pick something like that up.

I just wish with the initial hire on stores would explain to new cashiers that a coupon is the same as money, they would not turn you away if you were handing the dollar bills now would they, I always ask them, "what will the store be receiving for the coupon I give you." I just try to educate them as I go along. Especially when a Manager is also giving grief.
