Potty seat's for boys

I have been looking at the reviews for potty seats but it looks like all the good reviews are for girls and all the negative reviews are because the seat isn't good for boys.

Any mother's of boys have a seat to recommend?

It seems that the reviews are all up and down, you either love a potty or hate it. We just bought a potty at Wal-Mart this week for our 18 mo DS. He has sat on it a few times, but hasn't "used" it, so I don't really know if it "works. Maybe in a few weeks I could tell you something different!

I like the one that fits right on the regular toilet seat. They have the little shield and some have handles on the sides, that the child can hold onto while sitting there. When I potty trained my son, I just set the timer for about every 20 min. to half hour and every time it went off we ran to the potty! Didn't take him long!

We tried several potty seats with our boys but they always ended up not being used. When they are at the potty training age they are particular about everything. When it came down to it, our boys wanted to be like everyone else and use the big potty...without any devices.
They would straddle the potty, facing the back, to go pee pee and then when they built the confidence to go poo they would turn around. It all just finally "clicked". I was not comfortable about the way they wanted to do it because of sanitary reasons, but they had to figure out what worked best for them. I cleaned the potty daily and washed hands like mad.

Lisa...love the timer idea!!!

I could not find the one we used at walmart.com, but I think it is still at walmart. It is safety first and it comes with a seat you can put over a potty OR the reg. toilet. The potty part becomes a stepstool when the boy has moved up to the toilet. We started on the little potty because some kids do get scared of that big potty, but we transitioned very quickly to the toilet when he mastered the lil pot unlike some of his friends whose moms are still scraping dookie out of a potty chair which IMO is worse than just changing a diaper. Make sure you get an ample wee-wee guard and a bigger potty chair. I bought 1 that was unusable b/c the bottom and weebo could not fit in the potty at the same time. I think moving your child to the actual toilet is the last step of potty training and I don't consider a 4 y/o who needs a tiny potty to be "fully trained". That's just gross for mom and dad to clean up afterward. My friend has to bring her potty stuff over here for her son to use or he will withhold, so it really defeats the purpose of the freedom potty training offers to parents.
