Small ones, flying ones Now what?

We do have Terminix, have to call them tomorrow. Anyother suggestions? I hate having them come IN the house.

I've got those little bitty ants messing with me right now..I guess dd dropped a little apple bit or granola bar by the door and they are marching right into the front door..
I know raid makes ant killer.

Those are probably sugar ants and they are almost impossible to get rid of. My brother had them in his kitchen and he finally got the combat ant traps and put them everywhere and finally got rid of them. He also went nuts with caulk and sealed just about every nook and cranny in his house. They are probably the hardest ants to get rid of - he had a exterminator come out and they couldn't get rid of them totally.

The winged ants sound more like termites it is about the time for them to swarm so make sure you get Terminex out ASAP.

GRANT'S ANT KILLER--they are stakes for outside, but you can also sit them around inside (where animals/kids cannot get to them)--they are the BEST THING I have found and the only thing that worked!!

BEST Ant Killer out there - mix 1 part borax (in laundry aisle), 1 part powdered sugar, and a little water to make a paste. Put a spoonful of the paste on cardboard pieces and stick wherever you see ants (don't put directly on the floor/counter - as it gets hard as a brick and is almost impossible to remove later - don't ask how I found this out )

They will eat it and die, and those that haven't made it into your house yet WON'T. That was my experience several years ago when we found black ants getting in our kitchen. We realized that we have TONS of them in holes in the back yard and they were coming in through little holes and cracks.

I made up that "recipe" and put it in different places around the kitchen, and we haven't seen any since! MUCH cheaper and safer than chemicals and exterminators!

Cinnamon also works. Yes, plain old cinnamon - they can't stand it.

May sound strange, but I heard a lady on the radio talk about how she uses artificial sweetner to kill ants, Nutrasweet, sweet and low, etc. I tried it at work when somebody dropped something on the kitchen floor and guess what - gone within a day, I was amazed. She said that they bring the sweetner back to their nests and it's toxic (unlike regular sugar) so it kills them. Anyhow, all I know is it worked - these were the little brown ants. Not sure if it works on anything else. Good Luck no matter what you try!

Those are harder to get rid of than Termites, they are carpenter ants! Just google for info, can't get the link to work right now, it has potos of them. They swarm this time of year...we had them in our last house, had to pull out an entire wall and spray, spray spray. The Terro works too for smaller colonies.
