So I checkout @ the grocery store, DH takes the groceries and the baby to the car, I go to cust service to get a book of stamps ( side note: on the way over to cust service a cashier runs into me with her drawer and cuts my arm! ) anyhoo...... I am leaving the store and the lady that was behind me says " You forgot a bag at the checkout, the cashier just went out to find you" So I walk outside to see if she found DH, he say's "No". So I go back in and go over to the cashier and say "someone told me I forgot one of my bags, she said yes you did , but as my bagger was looking for you ( bagger was not bagging this lane hen I went through) someone came up and said to her "Oh that's my meat" ........ and took the bag.
At this point I realize they took the bag with 3 huge steaks and 2lb of haddock in it ( about $50 or so!!)
The cashier tells me to go back and get 3 more steaks and the fish to replace the ones that someone stole.....
I go back to the butcher and there are none left!!! My DD is having a meltdown @ this point so I go to cust service, they gave me hard time about getting my money back, eventually they do and they give me a raincheck for the sale price of all of the meat!

Can you believe someone stole my meat!!! That took some pretty big "stones" to do that!!

Jeez, can't believe the nerve some people have, and that the store would give you a hard time over refunding your money.

Sorry about your "run of luck" over the past few days, first the speeding ticket, now the meat thief. Where was your cop when you needed him? Did it ever occur to the bagger to ask to see the receipt?

Oh my gosh, I can't believe some people. I am afraid we are going to start hearing more stories like this, with all the rising food prices and the increase in gas. Glad you were able to get your money back.

That is just terrible. You know the scary part is that whomever took that meat had to be watching everything that was going on. I mean, they had to be watching so they'd know you didn't just turn right back around to come get the sack and catch them claiming it.

Sounds like a personal problem!
Now I am really sorry that this happened and why the heck did they give a bag away without seeing a receipt? durrrrr...a run of bad luck always happenes before something good.

That is terrible I would just hope the person who took it really needed more than you. I guess sometimes I feel like with so many people losing jobs and such maybe the person who took it had no food at all. Mosst of us are fortunate to not have that problem but we should remember other are not so fortunate. Yes it stinks that someone stole it but they have to answer to god for their own.

That is horrible, what some people will do. I can already image your mouth salivating thinking you were gonna get some steak that night, then to have to eat mac n cheese--very dissappointing--glad you got your money back and a raincheck, but that did not help you for dinner that night!! And hopefully they do choke on it!!!
