| Military Gals Stop Here
Okay, so anyone who's SO/DH is deployed or has been deployed knows what i'm talking about when i say... i'm sitting here on the computer with my son's monitor turned on... he loves having "noise" in his room, so i just turn the radio on to country... well all of a sudden here comes the song by Tim Mcgraw, If You're Reading This and I just want to start bawling!!! last time he was deployed (2005) the song that would do it was SheDaisy "Come Home Soon" and Toby Keith "American Soldier"... deployments suck!!!anyways, so it got me to thinking, what is everyones favorite "military/deployment" song? some of these songs in a weird way, actually comfort me or something, i dont know how to explain it... its like a song i like to listen to and just cry but in a good way... like "i'm already there" last deployment DH made me a video of pics of him&his guys and put music to it and that was one of the songs... okay done rambling now... man tonight is not a good night in my world/// i miss my husband!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :klee nex:by the way, anyone that reads this message do me a BIG favor, go here: http://www.afullcup.com/upload/live-...25-9pmest.html <3

My DH isn't in the military or deployed, but my dad was in the Marines and I work for the Army. I can totally relate to these songs that come on and mean more to those of us who are in the military family than Joe Schmoe who does not have a loved one deployed. When my dad was in Desert Storm, they played "proud to be an American" on the radio all the time. What a tear jerker (for a junior high kid at that)! |

I know this isn't going to make you feel better. But I know what it feels like. My DH got out of the ARMY in 1997 when he was an E-5/Sgt. The only thing I can tell ya is to pick up DS and hug him really tight. I would be balling also with the Tim Mc graw song. Cheer up were here for you to vent!

We've been out of the military for almost 3 years now. Hub was deployed to Iraq through 2004, SheDaisy's song "Come Home Soon" was my "theme" song. We served (and I say "WE" because military spouses go through just as much) for 9 1/2 years and finally had had enough. Hubby was a tank mechanic and highly deployable. Of the 9 1/2 years of service he was on 4 major deployments and I won't even go into all the "field" work he was away for. Anyway, I know it's rough. Stay as busy as possible and keep yourself surrounded with positive people.God Bless our Soldiers and their spouses!!

You should know me know. Hubby is on his 3rd overseas deployment, and it seems harder each time. I thought this would be easier, but now our son is old enough to ask questions, he has autism, so it's an every day thing for him to ask "Where's Daddy?" Hubby can't handle the Lee Greenwood song, yet it always is a reminder to me. I can't listen to Toby for fear of crying myself. Nights are worse, as the day I find enough to keep me busy, but the bed is lonely and I can't force myself in, unless I am dead tired or VERY sick. Anytime ya need me, just hollar... and always to ya!

Hugs!!! I’m sorry you are having a tough day. My DH was also in Iraq back in 2005 and both "Come Home Soon" and "American Soldier" were songs that would make me cry every time they came on the radio – but like you mentioned it was a good type of cry. However, I can’t listen to "If you are reading this" it’s too much for me, maybe it’s because DH is scheduled to go back in 09.

![]() O honey! I do know! And having a good cry can make you feel better! I was pregnant during our first deployment and I would absolutely fall apart whenever Letters from Home would come on! Regardless of where I was, work, Wal-Mart...I would just sit down and cry in the middle of the aisle. It's hard, I know. But this too shall pass, and aren't the homecomings awesome?

I am here for all of you military wives and moms. My DH did navy for 12 years before we met, was a police officer on graveyard and is an air traffic contoller again he missed his navy job so he went back to work for the gov't. His job is 3 1/2 hrs away so we live apart 4 days of the week. I attended a military school but was injured so discharged medically. If any of you need to talk or vent you can PM me. To those who have served and are serving including spouses...Thank you for helping to ensure Freedom.

I know how you feel, my husband has been deployed twice to Iraq. The only songs I can think of are the songs you mentioned. I would be driving home or at work and would get teary eyed hearing them. My husbands first deployment was when the war first started, I remember watching on the news when they were first heading in, I just sat there and cried and couldn't sleep all night because I was watching CNN. Just keep your head up and stay strong. I enjoyed getting together with the other spouses and venting about everyting. We are here for you regardless of the situation. Trust me we all understand the ups and down of military life. All the soldiers are always in my prayers. |

Someone said "keep busy" and that is the truth, it makes it go by so much faster! I worked 50-60 hrs a week first deployment, untill I was 12 days till my due date and my bosses were like, no you gotta go home! I was mortified at the thought of having entire days alone! But believe it or not one day when he's home and you are arguing about something silly, you will wish for that time alone!!! JK (sort of)! Hope all these wonderful gals are cheering you up a little!

My hubby was just medically released after 12 years in. He was injured during his last deployment with OIF2. I didnt have to deal with his last deployment as a spouse but did as his friend and it still sucked! My hearts and prayers go out to you ladies and your families and husbands!

My mom (who tends to be overweight) would go to the gym everyday while dad was gone. She was a stay at home mom, so she did that to help fill the time. It is true though...keeping busy is good. You think less if you are engaged in activity. The nights are still tough though. |

If you are reading this is a great song, but hard to listen to when you are missing your honey!! My husband had it on his myspace, but I took it off because I could not stand to listen to it when I went to let the kids look at his pictures. I guess I should put it back and turn down the volume...
