| 2 guys just left their kids in a Bronco alone and.....
it rolled off in the lake! My son just called me and said he was fishing down on the lake and these 2 guys came runing up to him screaming "give me your coat!" He looked down where they came from and 2 little kids were standing there soaking wet. The guys were fishing and the kids got cold so they put them in the truck and the truck got knocked out of gear and it rolled in the lake. Luckily the back glass was broken and they were able to jump through it and get the kids out. My son said the guys were fishing right next to the truck, BUT..this is a good lesson why you do not put kids in the vehicle alone EVER! My son said that these guys were so lucky they got in and got those kids...he said just the top of the Bronco was sticking out of the water. There are now over 10 cop cars there and the game warden. You can bet children's services is going to get called. My son said when the police pulled up the one guy got very upset because he just knew that they were gonna try to take the kids away, my son said the sad part was that they seemed like pretty decent guys.

WOW! That is horrible but I really hope that the children do not get taken away from the parents. That was an honest mistake. I can't even count how many times that I was left alone in a car when my Mom ran in the grocery store, etc. I mean there are children whose parents beat and starve them but they don't get taken away.

This is one of those cases where I am sure that the authorities can see that the parents were trying to spend a good day with their children fishing and were concerned enough to put the children in the vehicle when the children got cold, never thinking that the unthinkable would happen...thank God they were able to get the children out in time and that we aren't talking about a tragedy! I am pretty sure that the hell they are going to get from their wives and the guilt they are feeling and will continue to feel will be a lesson learned.

Keep us posted. CPS should prolly investigate to be on the safe side. I know my dad would take my siblings looking for hunting dogs all day and not bring food or water and make them stay in the truck w/o any air or heat running- that is something a child should not be enduring. If these guys do this regularly, they need to be told it's not good. I've had to suck it up and leave a place when I was having fun b/c my kids were "over it" so maybe they should have taken a hint and left when the kids were ready to go or not have gone. We all make mistakes and I hope the kids don't get taken away if this was a one time thing and the dads have hopefully learned a lesson. I don't even leave mine in the car to drop ODS off at a Christian preschool for 2 minutes. People will call CPS on you plus who knows what could happen.

Wow that is a very lucky outcome...I hope that everything turns out all right. I don't know who should be more freaked out, the kids or the dads!

Josh just got home and told us eevrything that happened. There will be no investigation as the police deemed it was truly a very sad mistake. It was 2 little girls and they put the girls in the Bronco and were warming it up as they were getting their gear together to go home. They had just gone to the bank and cashed their paychecks, both of the guys wallets were in the Bronco and now the wallets are gone. Josh said the Bronco completely submerged and stuff was floating everywhere and they had to bring the underwater rescue team to pull it out. The police questioned Josh and asked him if he saw anything unusual..Josh told them the guys had been fishing with the kids all day and had just put them in the truck a few minutes before it went off the edge. He said the guy thanked him like a hundred times for the coats and and for hanging around as a witness. Josh said they were just everyday working guys and that they said they only had liability insurance on their truck, but were so relieve dthe girls were okay it didn't matter. I am sure it doesn't matter to them right now, but it's gonna later ![]() Josh said one of the mom's was on the cell phone and he could hear her screaming 20 feet away. Somebody is in a lot of trouble when they get home. So much for an afternoon fishing trip with the kids. |

Thank you for the update! I am very relieved to know the kids had not been stuck in the truck for hours and everything was sorted out without getting ugly. Well...I'm guessing it will be ugly at home, though!
