LAUNDRY

It is just AWESOME with 5 kids too.I should have bought stock in scjohnson (shout) a long time ago.

I really don't mind it until it's time to take the stuff out of the dryer.

I get overwhelmed by the laundry created in my house, and we total 4!

Yep, I'm good until it's time to put it away!

But I HATE TO FOLD TOWELS, WASH CLOTHS, UNDERWEAR and SOCKS!!!

I love folding towels, washclothes, underwear and socks!

I hate putting stuff on hangers!

I don't put it away,that would be too much.Heck half the time I can't get our kids name right much less remembering whose is whose on the clothes

I just hang everything up and fold the clothes,put them on top of the washer & dryer, and then when I'm done ring one of those triangle dinner bells.

I can't wait until the kids are old enough to put their own clothes away.

But we're off to a good start - my 3 year old helps me load and unload the washer and dryer. She knows which buttons to push to get them going. She cleans off the lint trap. I just taught her how to check pockets before we put jeans in the washer, and today she put the washclothes away in the linen closet.

And my baby is helping too. He pulls clothes out of the washer while I'm trying to load it!

wow FreebieMama..we just got my sister to start doing laundry and she is 18! probably a year ago she didnt even know how to start the washer..

The trick is to start while they're young and want to do everything you are doing! Yeah, it might take longer to get things done with a toddler helping, but they love to help.

She helps unload the dishwasher, too. I only have Tupperware and I don't put sharp knives in.

i will trade one 18 year old for 3 year old because apparently your 3 year old does more than my 18 year old..well she is the baby and of course has always been treated that way!

A trick to remember whose clothes are whose.... For your oldest child put one mark on the tag to the item (like the shirt tag), the second child gets 2 marks, so on and so forth to 5. This also comes in handy when a shirt is handed down from the oldest to the youngest.

Make the marks in permanent marker or something similar. For socks X's on the bottom work well...

I am one of 5 kids and my parents got us each a plastic hamper and wrote our name on it and kept these in the laundry room. Your clean laundry went into your basket and you had to put it away yourself (once you were old enough). Then, when you were tall enough to see over the washer, you had to start doing your own laundry. It worked for us!

Good luck! I HATE putting laundry away.

PS: We had a dinner bell (not a triangle, but still, we did ring a bell to get everyone to the table).
