This happens to me quite a bit- just wanted to know if happens to any of you guys here at AFC.

This morning at 4:24am I was awakened from a dead sleep becase I saw my mom in a dream- if you want to call it that and heard the word "mercy". I had a hard time going back to sleep. I say a dream but it was a split second thing- I saw my mom, heard "mercy" and woke up.
I called mom this morning and asked if she was ok- she said yes, she was still sleeping. I told her what happened and she said she did get up at 4 am and fell really hard, but thought she was ok. She fell on her wrist and her breast- her wrist is swollen but is ok. But she said she fell at 4 and knew it was 4 because she said she looked at the TV.

This has happened to me quite a bit in my life- I think it is "God" preparing me for some things- for example when my Grandmother died, when my frineds child Died, etc...

Just wanted to see if anyone else had this and wanted to hear your stories! thanks guys!

I have had dreams that have come true...I often get that Deja Vu feeling! I certainly hope that your Mom feels better soon!

I have not had this happen to me. But my younger sister does. It use to scare her but now she is just use to it.

I hate dreams nightmares is what they are for me. Everytime it happens something bad happens, last 2 times it was a very close friend. John died he did the memorial service when our son died, and just last sunday sue died and my kids have known them all their lives,(both deaths were very unexpected) and now my aunt is in the hospital and may need blood transfusion today. I may never sleep again it is very scary. I hope your mom OK

My father is an identical twin and 5 years ago, his twin died from cancer. My father swears that he can "feel him" and that he has conversations with "nothing," but really feeling that it is him. He wakes up in the middle of the night because he feels that something is telling him to go downstairs. He really thinks it is his brother trying to talk with him!

I totally believe him and I do believe that spirits are there to help you when something may occur! Just keep acting on your instincts when you can!

Some people may think I am "odd". But this has happened numerous times- none of it in my control. I saw a "vision" that played out in my mind like a movie- it was of a friends baby passing- she was still pregnant at the time. I told a mutual friend about it. I saw in my vision us going to the funeral home and I saw the color yellow- was not sure what it meant. Months later, after Cole was born he did pass- he had many complications and never did go home from the hospital. THe day of the funeral I kept wondering what the Yellow was that i had seen in the vision. ALl I can think is that on the way to the funeral there were yellow ribbons on all of the trees for our troops. I also knew the day my grandmother was going to die. I knew the day before my friends dog died. I picked up on my moms nervousness when there was a bomb threat at the bank she worked at. I knew something was wrong with my sister one time- not sure what it was but turns out she was in a car accident- she was very upset- but not hurt, that may be explainable since we are twins though. I have also seen Ghosts/spirits in my old house. DH never wanted to believe me- but one night when DS was a baby a toy started going off repeatedly in his room- DS was asleep in his crib. The toy did not run on batteries and you had to push this big button on top to get these balls to spin and had to push it continually to get them going really fast. Well, it just confirmed that there were other "beings" in our home- but DH just still did not believe- I still of course do- I have seen and heard to many things not to believe.
Thanks for the encouragement for my mom- she will be fine, just bruised.
I agree though that I need to continue to act on my instincts- that is why God gave them to us- good to know I am not alone in the way I feel!

Poshpoodle you are not odd. I don't have dreams but I do get these strange feelings. Whenever I get visions/feelings of death I always find out someone has passed. Recently I have had family members who have been ill. Before I even knew of this I was feeling certain things in my body. My mil had breast cancer and before she told anyone I was getting some pains in my breast and I didn't understand why. My dad has had problems with his heart and before he said anything I was getting some chest pains. Once they were both okay then the pain just stopped. I hate getting bad feelings. I guess it does sound strange but if you have had this happen to you then you understand.

When my exhusband's best friend died in a freak accident I had know beforehand because I kept thinking of him in past tense. I would have thoughts like he WAS a nice guy, etc. but I have had things like this happen my entire life so it really wasn't that much of a surprise.

Posh you are not odd! My sis thinks I'm some kinda freak! I have dreams kinda like that but they also happen during the day and I get some kind of chilling goose bump sensation all over and each time this has happened the person I visualize getting hurt has died! I don't know how to explain it. My last incidence happened March 7th 2007. I couldnt get to sleep it took forever and then when I did fall asleep I had a dream of an accident in the fog and woke up with chills and goosebumps all over and knew something had happened this was at 12:10am and well low and behold a bunch of my friends were out drinking and were driving back into town and missed a curve and one of them was killed. It was also very foggy that night. I sometimes hold this against myself becuz 2 months prior they were both working for me and the one that was killed made me mad and I told him "something needs to happen to you in order for you to learn" well he is gone now and not a day goes by that I wish I could take those words back. Only God knows why. The night my grandfather passed away something similar happened.

wlcross-please know you had no bearing on what happened to your friend. Do not feel bad- you never meant you wanted that person to be in an accident. It is kind of neat when it is something that I "saw" happen prior to it happening- except for when it is bad....it is usually bad though!

I had a dream that I seen a guy I worked with at Mac Donalds with a baby boy but there was no table where they were sitting and there were angels standing behind them.
Come to find out his grandson was born with a hole in his heart and died not long after. Their family was staying at the Ronald Mac Donald house.

Another time I dreamed I was taking a cab to work and there was grass clippings all over the road.
The cab driver turns and says " I'll bet some nut trys to smoke all that grass"
About a year later I took a cab to work and everything played out exactly as in the dream.

Isn't it all so bizarre!? I usually tell someone of my premonition/vision because I want someone to be able to know that it really was something I saw if it does come true. I usually can tell if they are just crazy thoughts or soemthing REAL.

I dont think you guys are odd or anything like that... my boyfriend has the same things happen.. I however do not but have witnessed his... His mother also has the same thing. It is kind of funny to hear them talk about all the things they have dreamt about.

I, however, just have extremely detailed dreams. I mean it SEEMS so real. However, none have ever came true...

Well, what about you guys with premonitions- ever see hear or feel ghosts or spirits? I have experienced all 3. Although seeing him/it was more of a shadow in my hallway- always in the same place- scared me but knew he would not hurt me. I have also thought I was awake in the house I am in now (not really sure) and saw a man standing at the sink in the bathroom looking in the mirror-I swear I was awake- but sometimes I wonder.... I have also heard my name be called- as well as my husbands. When I heard my name I thought it was my DH- he says it was not- but my name was called 2X- in a loud sort of whisper....as if he were trying not to wake me in case I was sleeping- that was very strange.

Well, most people I know think the ghost thing is crazy- but it is true. I think sometimes some people are more in touch with it than others- I never use to believe. The older I get the more I believe because I see more or have more "visions"- not really sure what to call them. My son, upon moving into our current home was a little more than 2 years old. He came into my room and said he saw a mommy ghost in the kitchen. Of course I played silly and said " you did! where did she go- did she walk into the laudry room? Or is she still in the kitchen- she better not be eating my food!" Of course he replies "mommy, she did not have feet she went through the floor into the basement". I had never spoken to him about ghosts- he had however seen scooby doo- so who knows. Also, when we went to the funeral home when my grandfather died my son did not want to see his grandfather in the casket so he went outside at the funeral home and played on the swing set. My DH was pushing him but DH said it was really odd- that the other two swings were going just as high as he was pushing my son....not the normal swinging they do when someone is on the swingset- much higher. My DH - not believing in ghost did not say anything- then DS said with big smile on his face- "look Daddy! Papa Whittle (what he called my grandfather) and Noah are swinging with me"! My DH said- who is Noah, Caleb?" and he said- "daddy- you know- Noah in the bible!" So go figure- he is 6 now and said it was real....I try not to influence him one way or the other because my mom always tells him ghosts are not real.

It is known that kids and animals see spirits/ghosts more clearer than adults.
A house I lived in when I first moved out on my own would always smell like cigar smoke when I came home like someone had been in there and my son always said he saw a man with a cowboy hat.... at the time it creeped me out!

There have been many times in my life when "otherworldly" things have happened. I had my feet up on my grandmothers sofa, just a couple of days after she passed away. She was always getting after me for putting my feet up. I thought to myself, "It doesn't matter anymore. Nothing matters anymore." (I was seriously grieving over the loss of my grandmother). I had my eyes closed when I was thinking that nothing mattered. All of a sudden, I felt a hard tug on the lower leg of my pants. I thought to myself, I must be imagining it. Then it happened again. I looked down at my leg and saw the leg of my pants move like it was being tugged on. I know it was my grandmother telling me she was still there, and to get my feet off of the couch!!!

I have had multiple dreams that play out like a movie. I'm not a participant in the dream. Just watching it all happen. Sometime it's the next day, or sometimes it's years later, but those dreams end up playing themselves out in reality. I had a dream about a cemetary once. About 5 years later, my friend was buried in the same cemetary in the same spot I dreamed about.

Many times, I have had someone or something touch me or lean up against the edge of the bed while I am sleeping, and most recently (about a month ago,) I saw a "disembodied" jacket standing in my bedroom (like an invisible person wearing just a jacket). It was swinging it's arm back and forth. I blinked to make sure of what I was seeing, and it was still there. Then it just faded away. A couple of nights later, I heard this noise right next to me in the bedroom. It was like someone took a plastic grocery bag and just snapped it as loud as they could. It freaked me out. My husband jumped in his sleep right next to me, but didn't wake up, so I know I wasn't imagining it. When things like that happen, I just pray to God to make these things go away, and they do. A few days after all this happened, I saw a smiling male angel by my bed.

I don't know why these things happen. I believe there is a spirit world, but I only know what has happened to me. I used to see a lot of weird things when I was a child too.

I wouldn't dwell too much on these things, but keep God first and foremost in my thoughts. Nothing else really matters. Just pray to God to take these things away from you if they are not of Him.

I agree if they are not from God I want them to go and the Devil to flee with them. Many times thought I think it is God's way of preparing me for things- like when my grandmother died. And when my friend's baby dies I was the go between for all of her friends to relay messages, etc...I think I "saw" it so that I could better be able to handle my emotions so I could help a friend. And you are right- they do play out just like a movie on a big screen!
