Easter basket for a Newborn - Need ideas

Ok.. so continuing on with my quest to be the worlds greatest aunt.. I need to make an easter basket for my nephew. He was born Feb 8th... so he is a bit young.. But I need ideas of what to put in the basket. I want to stay away from clothes as I already have bought a ton of those...

Here is what I have...
Pacifier
Books
Plush animal
Those feet rattle socks

Ya pretty sad looking list I know... Need some more ideas..

Last Easter, my girls were 1 week old and they got baskets that had hats with bunny ears on them-- so cute! Too big for them then, hopefully they will fit this year! Maybe you could find one of those!

I am sure your basket will be hoppin'!

My daughter's Godparents gave her a basket for Easter with this GIANT bunny! They also included some religious items...book, bible, a wooden Noahs ark with animals. Really a neat gift.

I would suggest a Little People Easter Set, those figures are very colorful and when they get alittle older, they can hold them and they are small.

Hope that helps!!

Just a reminder to watch the teething rings and things to be sure they're not made in china. Wouldn't want the baby to end up with lead poisoning.

I think Lhart already has the title of Super Aunt! She's been buying stuff for Ayden (I think I got that right) for months now!

Target's dollar spot usually has seasonal baby stuff.

target has bunny ears at the $1 spot, and that would be an adorable photo op!

How about a suction cup toy for the high chair so he can watch it while mom and dad eat OR wrist rattles?

Really you don't need advice from us- you've gone above and beyond the call of cuty. My boys aunt (on DH side...because my sistersa re great aunts) has never given my boys a card, call, present, or said more than 5 words to them.

Last year I bought a stuffed bunny at Dollar Tree, it was REALLY soft, and the baby LOVED it!
(I was trying to insert a pic, but I don't know how to do it, it wouldn't let me copy and paste, and I don't know the url)

You could always buy a really nice easter basket that could be used until he doesn't need easter baskets.
Kinda pricey, but...Product Page
I also second getting him some 1st foods, or even a baby food grinder. Some baby juice, wipes, and carseat toys along with a stuffed animal would be awesome.

Where can you find these at??

This may not be FUN, but how about some diapers and wipes on the side. The baby wont know or care, but it will probably be well received by the parents. When mine were little, I appreciated the outfits and stuffed animals, but LOVED diapers and wipes.

But if someone has seen the bunny bibs hats etc... please post where you found them at

Here's the answer to your question:
In CVS they have Baby Easter Bibs with a bunny & eggs on the bib and another bib they had was "Baby's First Easter".

Lhart24,Thanks for asking for ideas for the newborn because you read my mind on some Easter Newborn ideas. I was just in CVS looking at these Easter Bibs for my niece for Easter. I didn't buy one yet and so I don't know the price of it to tell you. They were really cute too!
