| I am in need of suggestions for direct sales.
My sister has become a Pampered Chef consultant. She set me up with some books and I also put a note on Facebook. I can't seem to get anyones interest. If any of you sell items could you give me suggestions on how to spread the word. I am hoping ot get a few orders for her. I was thinking of leaving a book at the grocery store but I don't know if that is a safe thing to do. Hubby's work has cut off any and all types of selling at work. So I cannot ask him. PLz LMK what you think or if you have any ideas TIA

Generally these are "invite your friends over for a party" sales. You need to invite your friends or convince one of your friends to host a party and sell to their friends. Don't leave this stuff any where in public too many creeps out there today. Please realize if your friends don't want to come to these parties it has nothing to do with you they might not want/need the products.

Agreed on having a party/get together. I tried helping out a friend with her home decor party, but I don't really know anyone in my town so I invited everyone via email and Facebook....no one ordered anything |

I often see a lot of Scentsy consultants put their ads in grocery store's bulletin boards. They make their ads such that there are pull out stubs with their phone numbers. I see that phone numbers are getting pulled out but whether or not those people make a sale is another story. Selling stuff that many consider non essentials or must-have to daily living is a bit challenging in this economy. Just be persistent and if possible, saturate all public areas with your announcement. You may find a few people who are interested to buy. Good luck!

If you invite friends, are they required to buy? IF you make it clear to avoid misunderstanding, two things can happen: 1) no one comes to your party because they know they won't buy; 2) a few come and you'll likely make a sale from them since they know what to expect. Would you prefer that they don't come IF they're not interested to hear the sales pitch OR do you like them to come to show their support whether or not, they're buying? It helps if you know where you stand. There are some people who are born with a personality fitted for sales; they can sell anything @ anytime. You may be one of those.

If it's anything like my area - we are OVER saturated with the direct sales and the stuff is kinda pricey. We have tupperware, scentsy, pampered chef and another one I can't seem to remember the name of. Ppl get overwhelmed, so don't take it personally. I know some ppl here have started taking their "stand" to craft shows as long as it's not a craft show where things have to be exclusively "homemade". I don't know how well they do, but their goal is to book shows and some of them will offer some of their products at a reduced price. Plus what happens is one person has a show, gets her friend to book a show and it's kind of a vicious cycle if you all have relatively the same friends, I mean how many shows can you go to. Just takes time and patience.
