| Does anyone receive monthly beauty/household boxes to items to try?
Does anyone receive monthly beauty/household boxes in the mail of items to try? I love surprises and trying new items and great deals. I have found several different types of places that offer these online. Have you tried any of them? If you have one you love let me know, I would love to sign up for a couple of these. I prefer where you get some full size items along with trial items and at huge discounted prices. Thanks! |

I have a subscription to Birchbox and Sample Society by Beautybar. I have been getting both for less than a year, and to be honest, I am really starting to question if I want to continue. It's expensive for something I am not guaranteed to love every month. Birchbox seems to go in waves- there will be a few really lame months and then a month or two where something was worth it. This month, the box was Gossip Girl focused (which I don't watch) but it had a full sized product, so I was quite happy with that. A month or two ago it was Teen Vogue and I got a full sized Essie polish. Birchbox tends to send a perfume sample almost every month which I like, but some don't. The nice thing about Birchbox is that you can leave feedback on your profile about the samples, which gives you points to spend towards full size items. (For instance, I used a $40 credit to get some perfume I had been wanting for awhile.) The items in Birchbox are a mix of higher-end brands, but nothing too expensive. Birchbox usually puts something random in the box every month like a bracelet, a code to download songs, a stationary card, coasters, etc. They say it's a bonus, but nothing so far has been worth bragging about. Sample Society has only been going for a few months. The samples have been more deluxe in size compared to Birchbox, but a lot of them are the same things you get when you place an order on Sephora, so I have not been very impressed. It is also $5 more a month. You get a code to use if you buy anything from the featured brands that month in the box too, so if you spend $50 you get $15 off every month. I have only used that once. The products are more skincare focused, and I would say that most are too expensive for me to use on a regular basis. I really like to discover new brands, so it is always a nice surprise to get the boxes in the mail every month. Sometimes I find a new favorite. I would say if you are looking for a higher-end box, these two would be good choices. Some of the other boxes I have researched have stuff I can buy at Target or Ulta, and that is not what I am looking for. It just depends on what products you want and how much you are willing to spend if you fall in love with something and want to buy it.

i belonged to one a long time ago, i dont even remember the name. i got a shipment every 6 weeks or so and i had to pay 10 bucks or so. when you sign up, you had to give them your colors. and they would always send me stuff way to dark. nothing close to what i should be wearing. so i stopped them. however, it was fun getting the packages.

I do Birchbox and agree with the previous poster. I've only been a subscriber for 3 months though so I'm going to give it a few more months before I cancel.

| I remember I sent them an email via their website and they sent me an invite to be part of L'oreal Product Testing Panel. After I registered, I started receiving surveys and right after completion, I received full size products, mostly skin care items.
