The renewal notice for my driver's license came in early March. I just let it sit there, until last week, because I kept forgetting to buy a money order. They require the driver's license number on a check. Since I pay everything online and use my debit card, I never bothered to get anything more than the initial temp checks. I still have all of them, 3 or 4 years later - LOL. Anyway, I finally got around to buying a $21 money order last week and realized that the fee was $21.50, just before sealing the envelope. So, I had to go out again and pay $0.60 for a $0.50 money order. I sent it off last week, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday, from the Baton Rouge area to New Orleans. I was just wondering this morning, if the new license would come before my birthday next week. But, I came home this morning and the new license was in the mail. Picture me really shocked that the state of Louisiana is able to have a turn around time that fast.

It probably would have made more sense to drive the 5 minutes to the nearest office because I actually needed to change the weight on my license from 214 to 182. But, I actually hate waiting at the DMV. Also, the notice says that there is a possible extra charge for coming in person to renew. So, it really wasn't worth the bother of an office visit.
