Monkees star Davy Jones dies at age 66

Ah, I love The Monkees and he will be missed. I think he was, probably, everyones favorite Monkee. I was just reading a bio of David Bowie two nights ago and got a chuckle learning that he had to take on a different stage name because his real name is David Jones.

Darn it. Now, who's going to cheer up sleepy Jean now that Davy has taken the last train to Clarksville.

I had a hard time breaking the news to DH, he was a huge Davy Jones fan. We got to see him a couple years ago in Addison TX at a free concert and he was amazing.

We got autographs at the concert but later DH sent a letter to his home in Beavertown, PA and he wrote back and included an autographed photo DH has proudly displayed at his desk

i reached for my phone to call my mom as soon as i heard. Spent the rest of the night in tears. I grew up watching the show. Mom was a huge fan. I say the monkeys were to my mom as new kids on the block are to me. (my mom passed in 2009)
