| Donating Items Means Tax Money For You!!!
Hiya Everyone... Early today I read a thread about Donating Monitors. Well, I did some checking and found out these are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. If you buy a, lets say, glucose monitor, and donate it... Make sure you get a paper saying you donated it and the date on it. Then attach your receipt of what you bought to that paper. Then, when you go to file your TAXES...make sure you add all these up and put them into your contributions area. Then, put the papers into your tax folder for proof. That way you get more bang for your buck. You did good by donating and got paid back for your kindness. So, take advantage of those CVS offers!!! Easy Peasy!!! Hope this helps someone. Hugs!!!

If you read that entire thread (on the CVS message board) you will notice that myself and another person both made comments about how this is not legal. You have to prove the amount of money you spent on them. Just a receipt from a place where they were donated is not enough. This has been discussed many times over. My husband is an accountant and the other person who posted is a tax professional. IT IS NOT LEGAL. ***Please get your information on deductions from a tax professional and not a message board*** Again, I don't mean to be harsh, but someone is going to get in a whole lot of trouble if people keep posting that you can do this. I love you guys and I don't want anyone to get audited and fined for incorrect information. |

| As I stated in the CVS forum last night about your post on Tax Credits on the monitors, I am a tax professional and if you pay zero after coupons, you cannot use it as a Tax Deduction........you can't get a tax credit for something you didn't pay for!! It's called Tax Fraud! All it takes is a few people saying, "Well.....I read it on A Full Cup, so I thought it was OK!" Can't have that coming back on AFC........
