My husband and I are on a debt snowball plan to rid all debt my the end of the year except our house. It is a challenge, but at the same time fun trying to get the best "deals". After a month of stocking up on what's onm sale matched with a manuf. q , you really start to see the savings and the cupboards are always full. We have cut our grocery/toiletry bill in half. We're paying off debt too. It really helps to stretch the budget with coupons. It leaves a lot more room for paying things off!

I am tring to do the same thing. Although I have 'grown' children that are always needing help with something!! So I guess what I am doing with the saving most, is being able now to help my family. Free food goes a long way when you are stuggling.

what are we doing with the $ we are saving....surviving! three kids in three years, and being a sahm has made for a pretty tight budget. so we HAVE to save cause the $ wouldn't be there otherwise. however. when we have a huge overabundance i sell stuff on craigs list, and that $goes for vacation, we are saving up and the whole family is getting in on the act and this is about the only way i have to contribute.
