Ok someone insert the sign on my back saying "kick me Im stupid"...... Or even wear the Im with stupid t-shirt.... I have a question about paypal.... We got an account this week, assigned it to our bank card. My question is.... the paypal balance says $0... if I sold something to someone and they paid me, would that then in turn go into the balance? Im sure I could look this up on the site, but I might not understand.

The reason for asking is that I want to sell on Ebay, but I dont want to connect that site to the bank account we have..... which might be the answer to my question.

Yes, if someone pays you through paypal you will then have a balance. It will connect it to your bank account as well.

Ok so with my Paypal balance, can I use that kinda like "savings" so that say... if I see something I want to buy here I can transfer the money from that paypal balance over to their account?

I had wondered how PayPal worked. Are you saying that it is linked to your bank account. Meaning that outgoing funds and incoming funds are actively accessing your bank account?

The only reason you have a card linked to your account is for payments, really. For instance, if you make a purchase and do not have enough in your balance to pay for it, it will then go to that secondary source of payment, which for you is your card.

Be careful though with Paypal. Sometimes people will send out fake posts that Paypal needs additional info. or such for your account. That you need to log in and do this and that. DONT...Those are people who are trying to steal your password or account. Always verify with Paypal by sending them a copy of that email, if it is in fact an email like that.

Also, when selling on Ebay, makes sure to add the Paypal icon. to your listings, people prefer that payment type then any other. Seeing that icon will enhance your sales.

Yes, if I transferred money into someone's paypal account it automatically takes it out of my checking account,unless I have funds in my paypal account to start with.
If I sell something it usually takes 2-3 business days for it to be in my checking account,but it is quite simple,all I have to do is deposit money from my paypal account and into my checking account with the click of a button.

The only problem is having a premier account in which most people are sucked into when they sell on ebay or anywhere else for that matter.Most people pay with a credit card and you have to have that type of an account to accept them.
the fee is 30 cents plus 3% and it can add up.Also paypal doesn't recognize the shipping charges either.What money someone deposits into your account is what the % you have to pay in fees.

Hey JRA...Don't give away free money to Paypal. When you sell on ebay, make sure you add in your listing fees and a few extra cents into your shipping and handling fees to cover that transaction. Just state in your auction that your shipping and handling price includes your listing fees, shipping and transaction costs. That way the buyer can't say you were unfair with your shipping charges. Because it is stated in your auction what all the costs your incure are.

I sent a suspicious email to paypal once and was told that they would never send me an email. Anything you receive from paypal is fake. All transactions and communications with paypal are done when you log into your account.

I get 2-3 of those for paypal & ebay every week!! I just send it to:
spoof@paypal.com
spoof@ebay.com

I figure that is what thei Security Dept's are there for!!
