We have layered it on thinly on sub-type bread and put cheese, tomatoes, onions, lettuce mayo-the works like a sub sandwich. Make a garden salad(with the works) and and julienne it or leave it in thin slices --use HV ranch dressing -yummy. I have made pasta salad with oil-type italian dressing and put it in. We've put it on plate with cubed cheddar cheese, sliced boiled eggs, ritz crackers and tasty mustards -like you would serve summer sausage at Christmas. I have heard of putting it in an italian soup- like minestrone or pizza soup at end of cooking. How would it be in an omelet with maybe peppers, mushrooms, and cheese??? How about using some in spagetti sauce instead of ground beef or ground turkey- then spoon over rotini. Lah123 Last edited by lah123; 02-13-2005 at 04:31 AM. |

Your welcome! Hey how about putting it in the campbells tomato soup like the commercial-- they say pizza tomato soup and they also have the taco thing going. Might check on their website(or on a tomato soup can) and get the recipe. Probably put like pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, a sprinkle of basil or oregano--maybe sliced black olives, and parmesan cheese--And easy pizza soup. Or put some on on a baked potato with cheese and whatever you like--you could make a pizza topped baked potato. Thanks Lah123 Last edited by lah123; 02-15-2005 at 07:19 PM. |

luvcoupons I have a love-hate relationship with cooking. I am 37 and I have been cooking full family-sized meals since I was around 9 years old (not cleaning up my messes I made until I was around 21 that's when I moved out on my own-LOL). Anyways I think cooking for your family is an under appreciated thing. So lately my slow simmered potroast w/gravy,homemade mash potatoes, fresh green beans and corn on the cob, fried okra and corn bread have become tyson precooked au jus roast, instant mash potatoes and well whatever the can opener can open or even better if it has a pull tab or is microwave ready. I get horrible complaints when I fix this (but no compliments when I slave in kitchen all day)...my husband "the roast it's not tender, you didn't cook this, did you?? " why yes( I did warm it up).. and my kids who are teens (if at home to eat) argue over if the potatoes are "real or fake????" It just takes too much time,$$ and effort to cook the way my grandmother and mom use to (not sure if healthier or not--like that matters if you are eating chunks of beef roast, fatty gravy and greasy fried okra and globs of real butter on cornbread, potatoes and corn on the cob). Oh and the desserts.... I do still love to cook when I really want to and I am addicted to the Food Network Channel. My son loves to do the same thing it's funny to see him in the kitchen making a "snack" 13 years old..6 ft + and over 200 in there whistling and humming, coming up with all kinds of food ideals. Oh and of course leaving me the mess to clean up..Thank goodness for electricity, running water, dishwashers and washing machines and grocery stores.... I don't think I would have ever survived a century or so ago...... Thanks Lah123 Last edited by lah123; 02-15-2005 at 11:40 PM. |

I know some people who add chunks of pepperoni to homemade spaghetti sauce as it simmers. It add's a little spiciness to the sauce. Pepperoni can be frozen too. |

I like to cut it in half and put it on a baked potatoe with sunflower seeds... sounds weird, but it makes it spicy and crunchy ! It is yummy! Also you can freeze it easily... I buy the frozen garlic bread that comes in slices and I put sauce on it, some cheese (I keep it in the freezer and put it on frozen) and pepperoni and bake for 5-7 minutes for quick pizzas...it is a great quick pizza and the crust is really garlicy, yum! |

Bake the pepperoni on a sheet pan. They get all crispy and you can use them as croutons or crackers. Good for appetizer trays and the holidays are here. You can also crumble up the crispy pepperoni and use it as a topping, like bacon bits.

Make some Pizza rolls. Grab some fresh dough, spread it out like an oval or rectangle, spread some light olive oil on ( or egg wash, butter mix ), spread some pizza/marinara sauce, fresh pressed garlic, parmesan cheese, mozzerella and then some italian seasoning along with salt, coarse ground pepper and maybe fresh basil. You then roll it length wise ( should be about the size of a baseball bat in diameter ), cut a few small slits for even cooking, baste with egg wash, butter or olive oil and then sprinkle parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and/or garlic salt and bake at 425 for about 25 minutes depending on oven strength. I used to make these in a bakery I worked at through college.

Put it on your grilled cheese sandwiches. I did this one time about 15 yrs ago for some friends kids. Recently she said that's the only way they will eat grilled cheese, and it's all my fault. I had forgotten about doing that. I also toss it in with baked pasta. It is also nice on a plate with cheese and crackers for the holidays. |

You could make pepperoni macaroni. Just mix cooked pasta(we like rotini) with chopped up pepperoni, sausage, olives, spaghetti sauce. Put it in a casserole sprinkly with mozzarello and bake until the cheese is bubbly. I like to add mushrooms and sometimes if I have it I will add some chopped up canadian bacon or regular bacon. You can easily adjust the recipe to what your family likes. Just omit or add what you want. My kids love this one.
