Riteaid Need some advice on a return..

heres a little background info..
i used the $5 off concentrated similac ready feed for my son. it was a really good deal and at the time i was BF and wasnt sure for how long so i decided to start a stock pile of formula for when the time came. and now the time is here and the kind i have about 5 bottles of makes him sick to his stomach and spits up. i sent the recipt in for a rebate on another product, so now i must do instore credit. is it unethical to return is for instore credit when i purchased it mainly with coupons?

I dont think its unethical. Its not like you planned this to happen.

I guess going on your personal feelings of it. If you dont feel right then PIF to someone who can use it.

You did not mention the store you bought it from but I know at our WM,

they do not take ANY formula returns with or without receipts. We have some of those on WIC who did returns w/o receipts to thank for this policy they came up with. Not long after, all the other stores had the same policy.

the only time they took returns was in the case of Similac when they had a recall. They took the returns with receipts, gave full purchase price even if coupons were used.

I suggest you check first with the store you bought it from if they will take them back. If not, you might want to put them up on craigslist in your area just to recover some of your investments.

Good luck!

Without looking it up first I believe the definition of fraud involves intent... since your intent was to utilize the produce, and now you cannot due to a physical constraint, you should return the items and not think about it again.

Your store doesn't lose, although the mfg might... (keep in mind they "salvage" through throwing extras away so a certain amount of loss is calculated into their sales prices.)

If you really want to feel perfectly "shiny" you could tell the CSR how much the coupons were for so you could only receive the amt you paid back, but I'd be extremely surprised if they forwarded those monies back to the mfgr.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong but I doubt you can return it. I know many stores will not return formula without a receipt. Good luck.

I know none of my stores will return formula, with or without reciept. I think it's just too risky to re-sell formula. I, for one, would not want to purchase formula that had been returned by another person.
