this is great I really need to find something to do with the 60 Sunsilk I've had for about 6 months * all-purpose stain remover,Shampoos contain grease cutters and ingredients to lift grime and dirt away. *If a wool sweater shrinks, try soaking it in lukewarm water and shampoo. This will soften the sweater fibers, making it possible to reshape it. Last edited by queenbear; 07-18-2007 at 07:23 PM. |

I Googled and found this: 1. Use shampoo mixed with conditioner instead of shaving cream. Use a ratio of 1:1 and your face, arm pits, and legs will be soft and smooth. 2. Use shampoo, especially the fruity smelling stuff, as a substitute for bubble bath. 3. Remove make up with shampoo and a soft cloth. Rinse your face with tap water afterwards. 4. Pour shampoo into your liquid soap dispensers. It's less expensive than liquid soap. It's also a great degreaser for your hands. 5. Speaking of degreaser- keep a bottle of shampoo in your laundry room. Use it as a spot cleaner and it will remove stains, as well as ring around the collar. 6. Shampoo is for cleaning hair, so why not use it for cleaning out combs and hair brushes? Soak them first, then scrub them completely clean. 7. To clean paint brushes, place a few drops of plain shampoo on your fingers. Then rub your fingers over the paint bristles; rinse clean. 8. No tear baby shampoo works great as a dog or cat shampoo. Not only will it not hurt their eyes, but it will make their coats shiny and tangle free. 9. Use shampoo in a bucket of water to clean woodwork, floors, doors, et cetera around the house. 10. Spot clean rugs and carpets with a dab of shampoo and a clean rag. Rinse the areas clean with tap water and blot dry. 11. Use shampoo and a conditioner mix to lubricate squeaky hinges in a pinch. 12. Mix up a weak solution of baby shampoo and tap water. Then, use it to clean the dirt out of your eyes. Also, use the solution to wash your eyelashes. It will help relieve dry eye irritation. 13. Rub a couple drops of shampoo on the inside of your diving mask. Then, rinse clean with water. Your mask won't fog up when you're diving under the water! 14. Mix shampoo with baking soda, and you can clean chrome on vehicles and make it shine! Rinse thoroughly before buffing it dry! 15. Need to wash nylon hose and delicate panties? Skip the pricey store bought stuff! Put a dab of shampoo in the water instead. Swish it around to mix, then wash as usual. 16. Have you run out of shower gel? Then grab a fruity bottle of shampoo to shower with instead! 17. Fill a small bowl with shampoo and soak your fingernails and cuticles. Not only cleans, but softens. 18. Use a scrubber and a dab of shampoo to clean your bathtub and sink. Rinse thoroughly, and wipe dry. Shampoo isn't recommended to clean your toilet because it has no antibacterial properties. 19. Skip the store bought detergent for washing your sweaters! Instead, use shampoo in its place! 20. Use shampoo and a soft bristled brush to clean family headstones. Rinse the suds clean, and the headstone will be clean and shiny. 21. Give the kids some fun by diluting shampoo with water. Then, let them use the solution in their bubble guns or with their wands. 22. Spot clean the walls of your rooms by using shampoo and a clean, damp rag. Rinse clean and let the areas air dry. 23. Car, truck, or SUV dirty? Put a half cup of shampoo in a bucket of water. Then, add water and make a sudsy solution. Dip a sponge in the bucket and wash the grime off your vehicle! 24. Grab the shampoo and a clean rag to spot clean the outside of your refrigerator and stove. It will remove greasy spots, as well as dirt and other food spills too. 25. Use shampoo in a bucket of water to clean the dirt and grime off of your fiberglass boat. Rinse clean with a garden hose and allow your boat to air dry.

My husband was a professional diver for years (He did underwater demolition) and this really works: 13. Rub a couple drops of shampoo on the inside of your diving mask. Then, rinse clean with water. Your mask won't fog up when you're diving under the water!

Damn I think Kelli got us half way there already! Those really are some GREAT tips though! I would have never thought to use SHAMPOO for half that stuff! I will now though. Especially on the stains. I have two kids that can't go a day without getting SOMETHING on their clothes. LMAO Thanks Kelli and thanks rgyman for starting this thread! LMAO I still have nothing though! I have used it for shaving my legs, washing my hair (of course), bubble bath and I even use it as soap for my kids when I am out of the kids bath soap! |

Oh great...I am supposed to be transferring my recipes and now I am like all googling shampoo uses.....ya'll are such a bad influence on me I need to be getting these recipes done! WOW...check out all these uses!Have you ever found yourself got stuck with a shampoo which you don't like anymore? Do you still want to use it for other uses? Well there are several ways to use your unwanted shampoo. For Clothes * It might sound impossible but try it if you have got paint on your clothes. It will take the paint right off the clothes. * Left over shampoo can also be used to wash out nylons. It does really a good job. * Are you afraid of using harsh cleaning chemicals on your wool rug? So use your shampoo for spot cleaning rugs or upholstery. * Shampoo is another great and safe way to get rid of grease out of clothes. It has strong cleaning properties than we realize. * Shampoo can remove the blood from your white linens. Did you know that? Now try this, pour shampoo directly on the blood spot and Cover the area with a wet towel. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes. See it for your self what shampoo can do and your detergent could not. It really works. * To get the yellow off of the collar and cuffs from a shirt use shampoo as a pretreatment and see it working. * Because of the gentle nature of shampoo with conditioner it can be used to wash woolen or delicate clothes. Wash your fancy lingerie with it will not only clean it gently but also leave it smelling nice. Beauty Tips Using Shampoo * Mix any shampoo and baking soda to get rid of build up in the hair. You will notice you hair is soft and squeaky clean. * To get smooth and soft shave use up old conditioner and shampoo instead of shave cream. You will save money and use the unwanted stuff which has great results. * Use the shampoo you don't like to wash your combs and brushes. * Make your own shower wash with unwanted shampoo. It is a great way really to make your own shower wash at no extra cost to you. * All-in-one use your unwanted shampoo as a bubble bath. * Washing eyelashes & brows with baby shampoo works wonders for dry eyes. Dry eye is caused by our natural oils and washing the lashes several times a day and using liquid tear products can help dry eyes. Toilet Cleaning With Shampoo * If you are out of toilet cleaner try using shampoo. It does work as a good tub cleaner. * It is the probably the only great way which does a really good job of cleaning fiberglass sinks and tubs. Other uses * Use it for cleaning the cork handles on old fishing poles. * Try your shampoo on your dog or cat they will stay nice smelling long enough. If you have a puppy or a kitten use baby shampoo to avoid eye irritation. * Use conditioner free shampoo for cleaning your arts and crafts paint brushes. Put a drop in the palm of your hand and scrub the brushes vigorously and rinse and repeat until all the paint is gone. * If you have expensive hobby like horses you can easily cut down on the expense by using shampoo for washing them. * Shampoo with a conditioner can be used as liquid hand soap. * Shampoo can be used as a multi-purpose cleaner. Use it like as liquid cleaner for mopping the floor, washing woodwork, etc. * If you are one of those who spun your own yarns then the wash fleece with your shampoo. Once washed yarn is already fairly clean and yarn has a nice fragrance. *It is an easy way to make bubble maker. Mix shampoo and water together for making bubble maker for your kids. The sweet smelling shampoo bubbles will make the house smell good. * Divers and snorkelers often use a drop of baby shampoo on the lenses of their diving masks which keep them fog free for a long time. Just rub one drop on the inside of each lens, rinse briefly in seawater and you're good to go! Clean Metal * Use leftover shampoo with regular baking soda to clean and polish almost any hard surface till it gleams, especially chrome. It works wonders on rings in the bathtub and shower tiles without the awful fumes. The best part it leaves shower smelling great! Car washing * An Herbal shampoo with non-toxic ingredients can be used for dish washing or even car washing. Make sure if use only the non-toxic one, always check the label.

I like Aussie products myself...I laugh my A** off when reading the directions. They say things like "Don't Panic, simply apply Taming Milk to celan damp hair and work throughout. GROWL at yourself in admiration" and for the mouse and leave in conditioner " work through clean, damp hair, style and smile (maybe mold some mousse antlers) okay maybe not" Now that is some funny reading there! LMAO :P

| Pricey
With shampoo running upwards to $15/bottle, this could be rather pricey unless a person gets it free like most of you do. Be sure it is the free variety you use for the wonderful multipurpose uses of shampoo. Ways I've used it in past: bubble bathGreat going, folks, great, too that you are donating these vast quantities to homeless, etc. I once knew someone who travled extensively and they gathered all the little lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and bars of soap and gave them to homeless shelters.

Way to GO!!!! Yes, a great reason to get them more shampoo to share with ones that are a little down on their luck. Trust me it gives you a high to be able to give a bag of shampoo, toothpaste, razor to ones that are in need. Lets see if we can come up with more ways to use our shampoo .
