Don't worry about whether your friends and family "get it" Just promise them you won't question the amount of time, money and energy they spend hunting, fishing, watching TV, playing golf, etc. if they don't question you about your hobby.

thats the problem, my hubbie doesnt seem to get it at all. "You dont save money" you spent money buying newspapers and ink paper etc.... (thinks i buy stuff we dont need ) im still new to this whole coupon thing , but i have saved money. Now he wants me to stop period.. I cant do that... i like what i get for pennies and so on...I showed him the lady with the order saving 780.00 dollars he wasnt impressed ! Do get it at all. He says we are saving money we dont have ???? Thought thats the point!!!!!

That's a tough one. If DH doesn't support it, it makes it really tough. Do you have a budget? If not, you probably need to agree on one. Once you do, you would carve out of your grocery budget a little bit each week for stockpiling. Eventually, your weekly "needs" go down and your money spent stockpiling can go up and then your total spending can go down. If you search some of the boards, you will find plenty of people whose husbands were not on board at first and they can share tips on how to do this and get them on board. You might just have to take it slower than some of the people whose husbands are okay with it.

It's very easy to get carried away with trying to get EVERYTHING you can for free, even things that you'd never use. I did that. Now, I try focusing more on what my family actually uses all the time, instead of once in a blue moon items. It will get easier.

By the way, I'm a guy. Give your husband more time, you might just come around. It took my wife awhile, but she is coming around, SLOWLY.

im in el paso, but wanted to say I hope your husband soon says he was wrong, my hubby supports me but I remember the day he was so happy because he could see all the extra food (snacks for him ) we always had, and he didnt have to make tris to the store for me, he hugged and kissed me and said thank you for all the hard work, I love how we always have something to snack on. : ) made me feel so good. so keep it up however small u start it will add up!
