We have a scenic railroad about an hour away from where we live. They are bringing in "Thomas" in May and hooking him up to the front of the train. My 3yr. old plays with his trains constantly, loves the DVD's and can tell you all you want to know about every train! (The Thomas trains, that is) Has anyone gone on this ride? It is only 25 min. long, but it is $16 a person. I don't care.......he's going! The look on his face will be priceless! (He'll be bringing along his 2 1/2 yr. old train buddy too.......they both love Thomas!) I was just wondering if anyone had been to this before. I've seen a little at the end of the videos. Do they have train stuff set up for the kids to play with? It says food and everthing is NOT included.....not a surprise. Wouldn't eat there anyway. He doesn't need anymore trains either! |

Lisa----I would have LOVED to do this for mine when they were little. Please go...it will be awesome at that age. We still go to see the Santa Express that comes through at Christmas. All of our Thomas stuff comes out to go under the Christmas tree. |

We have gone several times but fortunately my son is a big wimp and doesn't want to ride the train. He likes to just watch it ride away.....and around the area. It is just the head train that is Thomas and the other cars are just normal. It is by reservation only and is always sold out. My 4 like to walk around the site and see the characters (Sir T Hat etc) and go to the big tents that sell stuff. They also have train tables set up for the kids to play with and activities in other tents.....like a tent showing Thomas videos, a tent for face painting, a tent for arts and crafts. A fun day especially if you don't have to drive far.

If your talking about the "Day out with Thomas" We went to this in MI last summer. Ours was a 45 min ride and the tickets were over $30 each (3 tickets and 2 hours away! )There is a lot more to do than just ride the train. Go to the website for whatever railroad is doing it in your area for more info. They had other activities for the kids to do. The only other money we spent was to eat and you could easily pack a cooler of food because there selection/price leaves a lot to be desired. My son was 4 at the time and he loved it and still rememers and talks about it now. |
