We have the V-smile and are happy w/ it. We actually have the V-smile pocket and standard V-smile system. I really like that the Pocket (i.e. handheld) system uses the same game cartridges as the standard system. The standard system runs on c batteries but a seporate power cord can be purchases (which we did... it's about $10). That did irritate me initially, that I had to purchase the power cord seporately. You can also purchase a car adaptor. Our kids enjoy the games and they offer games for all different ages. I really like that the controllers can easily be set for left and right handers (being left handed myself... ).. The handheld system is the same. The games seem to be touchy on both the handheld and the standard system, however. Sometimes you have to play w/ them a bit to get them working by turning the systems on and off. It might just be our luck. IDK if that is a universal problem or not. I also have no experience w/ the other systems so I don't know if the V-smile is better or worse.. I just know that we are fans. |

We have the v-smile system as well and are happy with it. One of ds x-mas gifts this year will be the Art Studio that hooks up to the v-smile system and allows them to draw and color while seeing it come up on the tv.

My vsmile just broke, so not real happy with it..Ive read reviews where it did this, but most people raved about it so I went ahead and bought it..I think the game selection is the best, as far as having games kids are into....but if its going to break its kind of like whats the point... I'm going to exchange mine for a new one and hope it doesn't break. |

When I was at Target yesterday(gettin free Maxican food) the mgr of toys told me that I could return the product no matter how long I've had it if it becomes mechanically inoperative.

my son has a leapster l max. Best thing he has. Its educational and has games for different age groups like the other systems. I is portable and has helped us on many trips. It is very good and is made very well. He has had it for 2 years now and still looks and works just as good ad it did then. This year i bought him the I Spy game, the Scooby doo math game and my MIL bought him Cars (the movie) game for xmas. I love that he can get his video game fix while learning at the same time.

Your son at the age of 4 didn't have trouble with the controls..They look small..That unit is $80, I already bought him the 20" flat screen for the game plus every Diego toy they came out with this year and who knows wht is in my secret stash from this years shopping. I was hoping to get my parents to get it.. Is it worth the $80 ???
