I went shopping last night to grab some more PIllsbury brownies and cakemixes. I got up to the cashier and handed her the food...15 cans of Delmonte, 6 brownies, 3 cake mixes, 3 rolaids (.99), and a loaf of bread. I handed her my coupons $5 delmonte, 3- Free cake mixes, 3 - $1/2 brownie mixes, 3 free rolaid coupons, and the $5 store coupon.

My balance comes out to a -$2.36 (or something similiar). She tells me that she can't have that and that I can't have the Pillsbury $1/2 coupons plus the free cake mix coupons. Huh? Did you read what it said? No. So she takes off the $5 Delmonte coupon and 2 of the $1/2 brownie coupons. My new total was like $3.85. I told her that she needed to give me back the coupons she took off. Huh?

Meanwhile a customer, 2 people back, is saying that the cashier is right...I can't use the free Pillsbury coupons along with the $1/2 coupons even though they all match up. ARGH!

I was not going to get into an argument since the line was growing longer. I told the cashier to put back in the 2 $1/2 coupons and give me the $5 Delmonte coupon. SHe puts in only 1 and keeps the other coupon. ARGH! I did get the $5 Delmonte coupon back!

I paid and left. I will be going back and letting them know what happened. They know me there as a nice customer already, but I want my $1. Plus another cashier charged me twice for grapes on another order I boughter earlier.

you have more patience than me. I am NOTORIOUS for demanding my coupons back and walking out...and leaving them to put it all away--especially on "really big" orders. (just ask Obrother).

You could have told her to ring each item separately as a separate order. Sounds like a "gift card" should come your way from corporate.

I wrote about what happened on a yahoo group and someone actually told me that the cashier was right! Huh?!?

I bought 6 brownie mixes...used 3 $1 off 2 coupons
I bought 3 cake mixes........used 3 free cake mixes wyb 2 brownie coupons

The cashier and the customer said I couldn't do that. I have always done that. It is not like I was using another coupon on the cake mix.

Whatever?!? I haven't made it back in yet to talk to the store manager. Will do that tomorrow.

I have walked out also.. I have NO patience for people in stores especially around the holidays.
