| My son just said his first word!
I know, it happens to every kid, but I am SO, SO HAPPY! My son is almost 2 (next month) and has a speech delay. He was evaluated in December and was at an 8 month level for expressive speech (rather than the 18 months he was) and started therapy in January. Up until about 2 weeks ago he had no consonants, only open vowels. He started saying the "gee" sound then and just tonight he said "wow!" all on his own!  I can't believe it!

Thats wonderful....every kid is defintely different in some ways or another...So your son is probably good at other things, he will defintely come around, then you won't shut him up, ha ha...thats awesome....

And, as my son says, if you turn him upside down, he will say MOM (WOW upside down). That is wonderful news. He will be gabbing away in no time. My 26 year old near genius son did not say anything until he was 2. The doctor said he was just trying to get it right. |

| Congrats! that is truly a milestone and something to be joyful about I remember DS first word at 6 months was something that sounded like BY or was it buy? or bye? or whatever when he started talking in sentences at 2, he only quits when he's asleep  boy! there are moments I just want to have some peace and quiet.

aaawwww congratulations!! That is wonderful news!! I miss those days since our children are now in college! Relish in the time you have with them because it goes so fast!! Enjoy your precious son!!

That is awesome! My son had a speech delay also due to having WAY too many ear infections. Congrats!
