Especially triple coupons! And using MIR on top of those savings!

This past weekend, HT had triple coupons on Friday, Sat, Sunday. I only got to shop on Friday but still managed 9 transactions at the store!


Total pre-coupons and pre-sale prices = $451.17
Total after sale price and coupons = $21.04

A bunch of the items I bought was for itsbelong (she's having a party and needed picnic-y supplies: plates, cups, mustard, chips, ketchup, etc). I delivered 7 bags of groceries to her house on Saturday. Her DH paid me $10. Not bad considering I used some of the CRTs from those transactions to mail a Tostitos $8 MIR to her house. So, technically, in the end her OOP = $2

Then I bought enough Tostitos to mail in a $8 MIR to my house.
And I sent in a $1 MIR for paper plates.


So....

initial OOP = $21.04
itsbelong's DH gave me $10
$8 Tostitos MIR for me $8
$1 plates MIR for me $1

Final OOP will be = $2.04

Now, don't ya love this hobby!?!?!

Next time I find out in advance -- and plan to be in town the whole weekend of triples --- I will send you an invite to bring your coupons and a cooler and come shopping! The nanny can handle the wee ones for a day or 2. From you to me, it's only 5-5.5 hours! (I can make it to Richmond in 3.5 hours). Kidnap Jen and split the gas$$ and drive! ROADTRIP TIME!

Although - that's for my car's gas mileage... we should probably take the Suburban to haul back all our loot - which means....

324 / 14mpg = 23 gallons of gas * $3 ~ $70

Which map site did you check? Mapquest states it is 339 miles and only 6 hours 3minutes. Mapquest took you down 81 -- and going that way I know a really good mom&pop icecream stand to stop at!

Yeah, but you'd probably blow your savings paying for however much over 50 pounds your luggage was from your haul Now, I, on the other hand, may have to DRIVE the short 3.5 hour trip down to visit Lynda next time....M, J & Z could run wild in the aisles and distract them from the allen wrenches we were using to open the blinkie machines in an attempt to imitate our PA betters...

LOL! If you take 95, you could pick up ladywine on the way. Then you could split gas 4 ways -- tho you have to make sure there is room for all the groceries. Maybe if you rent a small Uhaul????

Thus the great thing about Harris Teeter and my town: I can think of 6 stores within a 10 mile radius of my home. And I know I didn't count them all -- I know I have missed at least 2. So, plenty of goodies for all!

To make my day of triple coupons even better: I used 2 CRTs to send in for (2) FREE movie vouchers to go see CARS. Gotta love it!
