I dyed my hair on Sunday. I mixed the stuff together & then shook the bottle. All the other times, after I do that, I have to snip the top of the nozzle. This time, I'm shaking it & notice my hand is wet. The nozzle had a pre-made hole in it. Which I didn't notice. I look around and there's dye on my wall. I tried to clean it up, but it's not coming off. Any ideas ?

A little bleach-water on a rag maybe. If you have white paint. And test in an inconspicuous place first. If you repaint, you'll want to use a primer like Kilz to keep the dye from bleeding througth the new paint.

I tried the bleach water, it faded the dye. Of course it's dark brown dye. We've said we want to re-paint the bathroom. Guess it's time.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to paint. And like a PP said, use Kilz first to prime it or the spot could come through later on. It's always a good idea to use that before painting in a bathroom anyway. You get to redecorate now - yay! |

lysol toilet bowl cleaner or scrubbing bubbles sometimes works ... depends on the dye and if the paint is flat or the glossy bathroom kind ... My best advice would be to call a specialty paint store, like Sherwin Williams, and ask them.

I had this problem a lot when I was in highschool. I always managed to get it off. I think if you just take a rag and some bathroom cleaner it will come off. Try a little baking soda on it too.

apsufan made a good point. People use baking soda, dawn, and prell to strip dye IN HAIR, so maybe use those on your wall.

I've been a hair colorist for 10 + years now.... Try the magic eraser. If that doesn't work repainting is going to be the only way to make it go away and yes, use Kilz first.
