| Are you cheap about everything?
Just wondering if all you other CVS'ers are cheap like me. I hate to spend money and want everything to be free like CVS stuff is Today I decided to treat myself to a pair of Uggs, just the slipper ones for $90, I'm 34 and have never spent that much on shoes, I do have 5 coach purses, one of them cost $400, the other 4 were all bought with a coupon.........LOL I told my husband I was going to buy them and he asked if I had a coupon, same thing said by my mother when I asked her to go with me. So obviously I'm known for being cheap. So are you cheap with other purchases and feel the need to always get something cheaper then retail??? |

Yes. Unless its a "free" coupon at which point I feel (erroneously) that I need to make sure it is NOT on sale to get the maximum value. I dont do that though, its just one of those weird thought processes. I am a total tightwad.

I never was worried about being cheap until I started couponing. I wanted Uggs so badly but refused to buy them because they were so expensive. My mom bought them for my bday for me. I have 8 Coach purses and never thought twice about it until I started CVSing Now I won't buy a new one without a coupon and a sale |

I detest paying retail value for anything! I love Ann Taylor (it's a sickness) but only shop when they have a sale! My DH bought me a gift card for Christmas and actually asked the cashier if they had any coupons (love that man) and they DID, so the gc came with a 15% off card in it! He knew I wouldn't spend it without some kind of discount

I am cheap about all shopping. I have 4 Coach purses, one Prada, and etc bought at Goodwill. And I still think it was splurging!

| The only thing I am not cheap about is my doggies! I have ONE coach purse that I have (got as a gift) had over a year and I plan on carrying it for at least 5 more. The last purse I had I carried for 10 yrs. I buy small efficient cars brand new but keep them a longgg time, last car had for 9+ years. I am going for 10 with this one I do get my hair highlighted and that is a major splurge for me, but I go get it cut at a $12 place..LOL! My mom is amazed that I can throw a party for 10 people for under 30.00 including food, cokes, dessert, plates, napkins etc. I have clothes that I have worn for years and I wear the same stuff over and over and over. I only buy one new bra a year. I love being me |

I am not opposed to paying full price if it is something i really really want and i know it wont go on sale soon. But usually (and it seems more and more this is how stores market products) things go on sale very quicky. Even my UGGS I got on sale through Victoria Secret. I have paid full price for 1/2 of my coach purses the others i got at the outlet. There is always a sale to be had even on expensive items!! I dont consider myself cheap just a bargain shopper. |

I am sooo cheap on everything. And no offense, but I would NEVER pay that much for a purse! My MIL bought 2 knock offs for $90 and I about crapped! But I "splurged" on mine at Target for $30 . i guess I'm not a purse (or boots) person?? I don't splurge on anything...ever. Sometimes i feel bad, like I am always nagging dh about $$$...but I have never seen anyone waste it like him either. It just seems like we should have things, and we don't. I just can't NOT be a tightwad. Thank god i found coupons and CVS, cause I am a shopaholic, I just shop clearance and goodwill . Now I have all kinds of free "expensive" products, that I would never have bought before, all thanks to CVS and coupons, and of course AFC!!But yes, I have always been cheap about everything, almost annoyingly so |

I have maybe 15 different Louis Vuitton pieces, from a little coin purse and checkbook cover to a really large duffle-ish bag and Vera Bradley and others --- all from GARAGE SALES!!! I also have several Coach purses, but only bought them at a 50% discount when I worked for Sara Lee Corporation years ago...... I couldn't possibly spend real money on these things!

This is so funny because I had a girlfriend giving me a hard time about just this thing last night when I wouldn't go to the mall with her. We used to go shopping together constantly before I had my son and spent money like crazy. I had a lot of disposable income at the time and loved Nine West everything. Granted, Nine West is not Coach by any means but I easily have over $5000 worth of Nine West shoes & purses in my closet right now with the tags still on them. What's funny is, although I probably have a lifetime supply of NW shoes and purses (classics! never go out of style), I am currently carrying everything in a 2nd hand hemp diaper bag and wearing slip on flexisoles that I got at Fashion Bug on clearance for like 7 bucks and I'm happier than I've ever been. I think I needed a lot of that stuff before because I wasn't. However, there are certain things I will never compromise just to save a buck: good sushi, healthy food, car seats, good chocolate and good face care products. A girl has to have limits after all! ![]() Oh! And, I'm sorry, a good bra and a great pair of jeans are priceless! But you can still find deals on most of these things too!

I use coupons for everything: eating out, groceries, drug store, amusement parks (Central Fl is FULL of them!), you name it. If it's got a coupon I use it. Why shouldn't I? They are offering the coupon, so why just give them the extra $5 or however much the Q is worth? I also shop sales for clothes, shoes, etc. On the other hand, we spend money on eating out, mini-vacations, day-after-day at the theme parks (think food, drinks, gift shops, parking). Plus we entertain ALOT! In the spring we have 20-40 people over at least once every other week. They all bring a dish or adult beverages, but we supply 75% of it. This happens about every other week, when the weather cooperates. Then we do it again in the fall when the weather is good. I work the deals for the basic stuff around the house, so we can afford to do all the little extra stuff that we wouldn't be able to afford otherwise. It's a balancing act.

I was thinking about this the other day! I love to shop, but my first "BIG" purchase was $160 coach sunglasses a few weeks ago. And I only did it because of couponing! I realized that I would have still spent the money, but just on smaller, cheaper items I didn't want as much... I've wanted these glasses for over a year, I bought them at the outlets, and walked around without buying anything else because I hit my budget mark! I was and still am SOOOO happy with my purchase. NO BUYER REMORSE! |

except for eating out. That is changing now. I am buying more frozen foods that are easy to cook. My husband is the same. Brand new truck $45,000 truck, New big screens, EVERY new gaming system and game too, and will throw $200 BBQs almost every weekend for his cheap (oops did I say that out loud) friends. I save 20% of my check before I even see it and love to shop for cheap and free!! |

I like to say I'm frugal, not cheap. If it's something of great quality that will last a long time, I consider the purchase for a few days/weeks (trying to find a better deal on the same item) and purchase it if we need it. I save money wherever and whenever I can but won't skimp on quality or nutrition. I do wish I had a coupon for everything though!

Yep! I am cheap on everything. I needed a haircut and kept holding out for a coupon. I finally decided to go on Monday with or without a coupon and I got a 9.98 coupon on Sunday's paper! woohoo! Then with my 10% student discount, I was able to get a good deal on a haircut! I "splurge" sometimes and use my ecbs on something that doesn't generate more ecbs. That's about all I "splurge" on.

We took my in-laws out to dinner last night at Ruby Tuesday. They are always making us dinner, watching DS, etc. etc. Oh....did I mention that I had BOGO coupons to use for the meal?? I felt kinda bad telling them they had to order within the parameters of the coupon...but it was off any of the Specialties, Steaks, Ribs, etc. I mean, how often do you treat someone to dinner and say, "Um...you have to order something nice--no burgers!" I agree with the others, though. I would DIE before I bought $90 shoes or a $400 purse. I bought my last purse with a 30% coupon and gift card from Kohls. $30 after sale/Q--on a GC! I got some "fur lined Crocs" at WM yesterday for $4. That's what I call a good deal on shoes!
