A couple of months ago there was a thread about a little girl who had gone missing and the family was given an Extreme Makeover. After my husband and I saw that we decided to do something.
On Sunday October 16 we are having a "Child Safety I.D Day".
We purchased 500 Fingerprint, photo and DNA kits and our donating them to the community. I managed to get some sponsers Outback, is sending volunteers over as well as food for the staff, WBAB local radio station will be there, Stuff A BAgel donated 250 bagels, cream cheese and butter, PEPSICO donated 240 cans of soda and 240 bottles of Aquafina, We got 50 Wiggles CDS, There will be clowns, face painting, PartyCity donated 500 balloons and a very large helium tank, A baseball player name Rob Cafiero form the LI Ducks will be there to sign autographs. Wendy doanted 500 gift certificates for "FREE" frostys, Waldbaums, Subway, Checkers and Applebees also all donated gift certifates for us to raflle off to the community. Five of the Village newspapers donated front or inside cover pages to promote the event. I atteached a copy of one of the ads.
It doesn't take alot to do this I believe that everyone should try and give back a little something to help the children in there community. If you are interested in doing this in your community PM me I can definatly help out..
