Really dumb question.... sorry... can you ship a non-flammable liquid via USPS? The thought didn't even cross my mind, but I just started realizing maybe you can't!

pm femail and ask her. I know you have to declare a liquid when you do self postage at the machine.

I've mailed shampoo before and they want you to put the liquid in a ziplock bag so it won't damage other mail. Mine post office asks if it's liquid, fragile or perishable.

Yes, me too. They are required to ask if it's liquid, fragile, perishable, or potentially hazardous. If it is one of those things, they ask you if it's packaged correctly(securely packed, sealed in a ziploc type bag). If I am mailing shampoo, lotion, or something liquid I always put a little piece of tape over the flip-top cap, just to make sure it won't pop open.

I mailed shampoo and conditioner about 10 days ago. It was the first time I've ever had a clerk go to the back to double check if she could accept it. She said they'd had a meeting and had been told not to accept any liquids - something about how they were concerned that leaking liquid had caused a malfunction with a plane. But she took the package anyway, after asking me how I'd packed it. So YMMV somewhat, but it's probably fine.

Interesting question. So would the above be a suitable answer if the Postal clerk asked, or do they require more? Godd info to have, as I was thinking of holding an auction in the near future and am totally new to all of this.
