Help! How to remove old registration sticker from windshield

I need to remove the old registration sticker (happens to be a NY sticker) from my car -- it's on the inside of the windshield. Does anyone know the best way to do this? I was looking for a straight blade razor but couldn't find one. The plastic putty knife did NOT do the trick. A table knife got a lot of it off, but there's residual JUNK. I'm afraid to use something like goof-off, will that damage the windshield? HELP?

Razor knife will get it off plus the sticky that's left behind. HTH

WD 40 is the best. Just clean it up with Alcohol. Rubbing not drinking!

Do you have some goo be gone? Smells real citrusy? That stuff usually takes off all kinds of stuff like that.

Isopropyl Alcohol (sp)....better known as just regular rubbing alcohol will take that stuff off in a flash and not harm anything....this is also something that you should use to wipe down your LCD monitors on your computers or laptops!! HTH
