| rug for dorm room
I need a rug for my daughter's dorm room. They all ditch them at the end of the year, so I really need a bargain. I am looking for a solid color-anyone have any suggestions?

In our area the carpet stores have odds and ends left over from big carpet jobs and usually have a special for dorm rooms for $25 or less, cut to size. The colors aren't usually bad and you don't feel bad when you trash them at the end of the year.

PM'd you. FYI everyone... My girlfriend picked up $300-$400 sample rugs from Home Depot for $20!!! She purchased them for her boys apt. They are bringing in a new line of merchandise so they sold the rugs for $20 a piece. Call your Home Depot to see if they are doing this fabulous deal! |

If you need a 20% off Q from either Bed Bath & Beyond, or from Linens-N-Things, I've got plenty of them.

free cycle, good will, etc. Undoublty beer, pizza, etc will get spilled on it so you are smart to not get anything expensive.

Also, try Lowes and Home Depot for their indoor/outdoor rugs. They have some really good looking ones that are textured with patterns, but are solid colors, and they are heavy duty. I like the selection at Lowes better, but both stores have them, and they should go clearance soon, and they are only originally about $60.

Oh, also you can go to carpet stores and buy remnants to use. I used to do this when I was teaching and it is a great cheap way to get a new rug each year. Those things get funky quick.

stores like Menards and Mills Fleet Farm usually have large remnant squares (with finished edges) that sell fairly cheap. They're just solid color, usually about 5x8. You could also try Big Lots, JCPenney outlet, Kmart. Or maybe Kohls when they go 50% off (and you have a coupon, of course!) |

I love Kohls for getting rugs, always seem to be on sale too!

The best deals for these are at Old Time Pottery. They are really good prices and they have a large selection.
