I was cooking dinner and thought he was out with grandma watching TV.. well he comes up to me with his finger at his nose and says my nose.. so I think OK he needs to blow his nose then I look and can see something in there.. I start to freak and try to get it out that only makes it go farther in. hysterically I call my Dr and she tells me go to urgent care or ER I found a urgent pediatric care near our house. Well after all the screaming and getting it out. He put a piece of celery up his nose. im like OMG what made you think that this is something I can put in my nose. But everything is OK for now

My son had stuffed many things in his nose. He has put a mardi gras bead up there, some other bead type thing. I freaked out the first time and called my friend and she said just have him hold one nostril closed and then blow and well out popped the bead. Saved a trip to doctor also!!
Gotta love those boys and sticking things up their noses.

My ds once put a blue m&m up his nose. The doctor said it would eventually melt out, and boy was she right!!! He had blue running out of his nose all day!!!

My middle boy put a small tubular bead up his nose one time. We got it out by plugging the other side and him blowing real hard! ha! I laugh about it now, but it freaked me out too. I am glad that he is okay! If it's any consolation, mine has never put anything in his nose again!!

So far my 3 yr. old has stuck a popcorn kernel and a peanut up his nose. Both times I was frantic. The popcorn kernel came out on its own while waiting in the ER waiting room and the peanut finally came out while talking to pediatrician. KIDS!! It's no wonder I have to color my hair.

mine pulled the foam rubber out of a pillow,BUT we did not know about it until she started to smell like fish whenever we kissed her. we got it out but she was on antibiotics for 2 weeks!!

When my oldest brother was little, he put a bean in his EAR. Mom didn't know about it for a few days and the bean started swelling and he told her his ear was hurting. Don't remember how they got it out, just remember them talking about it. Yes, you will be talking about it for years to come.
On another note, I know someone that had a GIRL, and she put stuff stuff somewhere too, and I am not talking about a nose or ear, so if you have daughters, watch them too. The mother thought she had some kind of infection because she had "green" in her panties, and the doc found out the girl didn't like peas and that is how she "got rid of them".

My son put a raisin up his nose when he was about 2 I guess. I FREAKED - same thing whenever I tried to get it out it went further in! He was too young to know to BLOW. I had to call my BIL to bring my tweezers and got it out pretty quickly that way! And yes, again, as someone else said - he has never done it again! (YET LOL) He is 6 now.

My DD and I were at my Moms house (she was 2 1/2 or 3) when all of the sudden my DD turned and said "Nannie, I have a peanut stuck up my nose!" It was so far up it was cutting into her nasal passages and started to bleed. We made an emergency trip to the ENT who had to numb her up and pull it out with the longest tweezers I have ever seen. Later he told me if he couldn't have pulled it out he would have taken her to the OR. FREAKED me out! She is 9 now and never stuck anything else up her nose! BTW the blowing thing didn't work...too far up there.

My little brother was (like all boys) picking up everything on the sidewalk on our walk. No one noticed anything funny. We get home and he won't stop picking his nose, then he tells our mom that his nose hurts. She asked him why and he said "I have a pine cone up my nose". Mom thought he was making something up (this is a kid with a VERY active imagination!) and dismissed it until he came back to her, in real pain. He insisted he had a pinecone shoved up his nose. Well, she figured that he probably meant one of the seed-like things off of a pinecone, so she called our neighbor-the nurse-and she said to take lil bro to the ER, knowing him and that he'd probably pushed it too far. Well, she was right, and so was lil bro. He actually had tried to smell one of those VERY tiny pinecones, the size of a pinkie nail, and it went up his nose and got stuck. Then he pushed it up farther. Oh, the stories that kid provides! Another time, he ran into a brick wall, full speed! Makes me worry about raising DS!
