| Banana Bread!! I want your best banana bread recipe! I have a good one but it just doesn't give that good crown on the top of the loaf...it's a very dense moist bread- which is good..but doesn't look as nice as it could! |

| I make this one and like it a lot. Shortening 1/3 cup Sugar 3/4 cup 1 egg well beaten 1-1/2 cup sifted flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (I usually add a few more) 1-1/2 cup mashed banana (2 really ripe bananas) 2 Tablespoons water 1 tsp vanilla Mix ingredients together really well. Bake in a moderate oven 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Makes 1 loaf. |
