Today I got a job offer from the company I interviewed with on Monday. It's lower than I wanted; I'd hoped to move up even just a little on the salary scale, but in this economy, I decided to take it anyway. It is basically the same pay as I had before my current company had cutbacks, so I know we will be fine.

I will still have a 4-day schedule and work from home, something that is very important to me and my family. I think the new job will be busier and my tasks more in line...

I got email from my boss today, announcing a 15% salary cut for all employees, an effort to keep the company afloat.

I found out by chatting with the lady in accounting, everyone else got their hours cut to 32 from 40 along with the pay cut. Since I already work only 32 hours (and have a reduced paycheck to match), I just got an additional pay cut... no extra time off. I won AFC's funniest member for June! That is so cool! I'm flattered! I'm not sure if I'm deserving, but very cool, nonetheless. Did I earn this by calling skulls 'exposed bones from a dead person's head' in my Rant post, or were people amused by my story about chasing our mail lady in my car because she took the cookies I left, but not our outgoing mail? Who knows.

Rain, rain, rain. Florida really needs rain, and we are so glad to see it! For a long time, the piers have not reached the water in many lakes around here. In the last two weeks, we have had about 20 inches of rain. (We normally get about 50 inches of rain per year, nearly all of it falling May - Sept.)
