The first year of Couponing!

I recently celebrated my one year anniversary with coupons!!!

The Do's and Don'ts, Ups and Downs

DO - keep a small stash of coupons (like a coupon clutch) in the car at all times.

DON'T - use a shoebox in the car, which can be dump over and scattered easily

UPS - 3 ring binders that zip closed are helpful and you can buy the inserts at...

There probably isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t work with coupons somehow. Whether it be clipping, sorting, printing or surfing the net …EVERYDAY IS COUPON DAY!

Occasionally, I’ll receive some help from my lovely family members, but most of the time, it’s just me. It really is a part time job, because it takes commitment and dedication to the process. This means that I have to stay on top of my game and try to remain organized at all times.

5) Learn the Lingo!

Here are a some common abbreviations used for couponing:
1) MFQ = manufacturer Q
2) Blinkie, Peelie, Tearpad & Winetags = ways you can find coupons while in the store or on certain items
3) DND or DNT = do not double or do not triple *if the barcode starts with a "9", it will not allow doubling...

About Me, a little history:
I am now 2 months into my new hobby. My husband thinks I spend too much time, but I really do feel productive. I feel like I'm providing for my family more efficiently and my stockpile has grown to over 300 items. I've saved almost $500 in 2 months and I maintain a coupon database of over 600 coupons.
