Hi gang!

Well, I thought I'd join the group and see what blogging on AFC is like. I have already been doing the "blog-gang-thingy" at Blogger. Come visit me at:

It is varied and some people like it. Who likes it? I really don't know. Who reads it? I really don't know. Why do it? It is an exercise in staying active and learning and doing. Something we ladies over a certain age need to do.

Question: Who reads the AFC blogs? What are we doing here? Why are we doing this? To what end? Just asking, you know, and just wondering.

And in case you are wondering.........

So am I
Have a great day! At least what is left of it here at 5:41 p.m. EST.

    The futility of blogging

What is blogging? Is it a time to tell stories and share experiences? Is it a time to bare one's soul to the world at large? Is it a time to muddle on the mundane and wander where you have no business treading?

Is it an exercise in communication - and if so, is it an exercise to test one's ability to communicate on an intelligent level or simply to get some unintelligible thought across in an intelligible way. But then who is to say what is intelligent communication and what is plain, outright stupid?

I see it sometimes as an exercise in futility. It is futile to sit and click away at the keys of the computer in one's lap, hit "post," and wait for the world to say, "A ha! My friend has communicated something for me to read!" They don't come. They don't read. It is futile.

But then if you have the opportunity to exercise this blogging ability whether it is "intelligent" or plain dumb and YOU DO NOT DO IT, is that, too, an exercise in futility? Is it futile to own the equipment, have the ability to type, know how to structure a basic sentence, and have ideas you wish to share, and NOT BLOG?

Wherein is the futility? Wherein is the blogging experience in your day?

Read your blog (don't do so all the time - just when I start browsing when I'm bored -- which is rare). I also read your Chat with Vera blogs. Love them and how much you love the Lord!
